Environmental Services Acquisitions in Arizona

Pine Environmental Services has acquired Terratech Environmental Equipment & Supplies, a Tempe, Arizona-based provider of air, water and soil sampling equipment rentals, sales, and maintenance/calibration services. The deal expands Pine's presence in the Arizona environmental market and strengthens its equipment rental, sales and service capabilities for environmental services and non-destructive testing end markets; Terratech founder and owner Dean Ferrin will support the transition.

Kian Capital-backed Diamond Landscaping has completed the acquisition of Arizona Outdoor Designs (AZOD), a premier provider of luxury residential landscaping in the greater Scottsdale area. The deal expands Diamond Landscaping's national luxury-residential platform into the Phoenix/Scottsdale market; AZOD founder Rich Dobbs and his leadership team will remain with the business.

Gallagher Bassett, the claims and risk management subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has acquired 100% of Chandler, Arizona-based Safe T Professionals LLC. The deal (terms not disclosed) brings Safe T's environmental, health & safety consulting and staffing capabilities into Gallagher Bassett to strengthen its safety and risk management offerings across the U.S., particularly the Southwest and West.

Trinity Consultants has acquired GeoSystems Analysis (GSA), a Tucson-based hydrology and natural resources consultancy with offices in Arizona, New Mexico, and Oregon and additional resources in Nevada and Peru. GSA will operate as a business unit within Trinity's Water & Ecology division, expanding Trinity's water and ecology service capabilities and geographic footprint while preserving GSA's leadership and client continuity.

CERTUS Pest has acquired Pest Friends, a pest control company with locations in Arizona and California, expanding CERTUS' presence in the Tucson and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. The Pest Friends branches will be integrated with CERTUS brands (Tucson into Responsible Pest & Scorpion Control and Los Angeles into PURCOR Pest Solutions) to provide customers with enhanced service offerings and resources.

Rochester Midland Corporation has acquired Decon Water Technologies, a Phoenix-based water treatment service provider with more than 30 years of experience. The deal expands Rochester Midland’s wastewater treatment capabilities by adding Decon’s proprietary chemistry, automation and skilled team; Rochester Midland is PE‑backed and continues to pursue complementary platform add-ons.

Inframark has acquired Phoenix-based Mehall Contracting, a wastewater management services provider founded in 2008 that offers pretreatment system installation, maintenance, sampling and recurring services. The deal expands Inframark’s wastewater technical capabilities and regional presence in Arizona, while Mehall’s founder Todd Mehall will remain in a leadership role.

San Diego-based private equity firm Verde Equity Partners (Fund I) has acquired Chula Vista Commercial Landscaping, a Tucson-based commercial landscaping company founded in 1990. The deal marks Verde's first expansion into Arizona; Chula Vista will retain its brand and leadership while receiving operational support and growth capital to scale across the state.

RMA Companies (a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners) has acquired HydroGEOPHYSICS, Inc. (HGI), a Tucson-based geophysical consulting firm. The transaction expands RMA's Subsurface Imaging Division by adding HGI's advanced 2D/3D/4D geophysical capabilities to support mining, environmental remediation, dam/waterway, and energy projects.

Mariani Premier Group has acquired three Arizona landscaping firms — Desert Foothills Landscape, HMI Commercial Landscape, and Benhart Landscaping — expanding the platform's presence in the Greater Phoenix market. The three companies, collectively employing over 200 professionals, add landscape design, installation, maintenance and in-house nursery capabilities to Mariani's national outdoor living platform.

PestCo Holdings, a portfolio company of Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), has acquired Green Mango Pest Control, a residential and commercial pest control provider serving the Phoenix, Arizona area. The add-on deal expands PestCo’s presence in the Mountain West/Phoenix metro area; terms were not disclosed and founder Cameron Bawden has merged the business into PestCo.

Tide Rock, an unlevered buyout firm, has acquired Phoenix-based Global Electronics Recycling (GER) and will integrate GER into its existing portfolio company Full Circle Electronics. The deal expands Tide Rock's national electronics recycling footprint and strengthens capabilities and customer relationships in aerospace & defense, communications and solar panel recycling; Tracey Haslam, CEO of Full Circle Electronics, will lead the integration.

GDI Integrated Facility Services has acquired Paramount Building Solutions, a Phoenix-headquartered provider of facilities maintenance, commercial janitorial and floor care services operating across nine U.S. states. The acquisition expands GDI's U.S. footprint into Arizona and Minnesota and will allow Paramount to leverage GDI's scale to strengthen and grow customer relationships; financial terms were not disclosed.

Ally Waste, a provider of doorstep trash and bulk-hauling services for the multifamily housing industry, has acquired Litterally, a Phoenix-based bulk trash removal specialist, effective May 2, 2024. The deal expands Ally Waste’s footprint and capabilities in multifamily bulk-trash services and brings Litterally’s team and sustainability-focused operations into the Ally Waste platform.

EIS Holdings, LLC (EIS) has acquired Environmental Technology, Inc. (EN TECH), a Phoenix-based environmental consulting and remediation firm. The acquisition expands EIS's remediation and environmental services footprint into Arizona and the broader southwestern U.S., adding EN TECH's capabilities in UST services, hydrogeological studies, PFAS work, and remediation.

Kinderhook Industries has recapitalized Compactor Rentals of America (CRA), acquiring the company from management and investor Bestige Holdings. The investment will provide capital and operational support to scale CRA’s nationwide compactor and baler rental platform, pursue acquisitions, and expand penetration in end markets such as multifamily real estate, manufacturing, and retail.

Ally Waste Services, a portfolio company of RF Investment Partners, has acquired Waste Consolidators, Inc., a bulk waste collection provider serving multi-family and other residential complexes. The acquisition expands Ally Waste's service offering to include bulk trash removal and increases route density in the Phoenix and major Texas markets as part of an ongoing platform roll-up strategy.

Shore Capital Partners has completed a partnership with ACTION Termite & Pest Control, a Phoenix-based pest control provider founded in 1969. Shore will support ACTION through board appointments, capital, and operational resources to accelerate regional growth and pursue organic and partnership-led expansion in the Southwest.

Trinity Consultants, a Dallas-based environmental consulting firm, has acquired WestLand Resources, a Tucson-based engineering and environmental consultancy with more than 240 employees. The acquisition expands Trinity's Water & Ecology capabilities and geographic footprint across the Western United States while providing WestLand employees immediate shareholder opportunities within Trinity.

Commercial Energy Specialists Holdings LLC (dba Aquafinity), a Turning Basin Capital and Vigeo Investments-backed platform, has acquired Aquatic Environmental Systems, Inc. (AES), a Tempe, Arizona-based provider of full-service water treatment solutions for commercial and institutional swimming pools in Arizona, New Mexico and west Texas. The add-on deal, which closed June 30, 2023, expands Aquafinity’s geographic presence in the Southwest; terms were not disclosed.

Pacific West, a Bluejay Capital Partners portfolio company, has acquired Arizona-based Overley's and Hawkke in a transaction supported by Parkway Capital, Southfield Mezzanine, Pine Street Capital Partners and the senior management team. The add-on expands Pacific West's presence in the western U.S. (including Phoenix/Arizona) and adds environmental remediation, waste management and infrastructure construction capabilities to its platform.

Tendit Group, a portfolio company of Osceola Capital, acquired Phoenix-based Legends Landscape Management, a commercial landscape services provider founded in 2002. The add-on expands Tendit Group’s footprint and service offering in Arizona by adding landscaping, irrigation and plant health capabilities to its exterior facility maintenance platform.

RF Investment Partners has made a platform investment in Ally Waste Services, a Phoenix-area premium valet trash and recycling provider serving multifamily, student housing and senior living communities. The capital will support Ally Waste's geographic expansion and further M&A activity as the company scales its recurring valet trash and recycling services nationwide.

Houston-based VLS Environmental Solutions, a portfolio company of I Squared Capital, has acquired Phoenix-based SRE Environmental, a provider of commercial and industrial wastewater and solid waste management services. The add-on expands VLS's footprint and capabilities in the western United States, adding evaporation-pond wastewater disposal, tanker transport assets and new customer relationships; financial terms were not disclosed.

HighGround Restoration Group, a Trivest Partners portfolio company, has acquired Rocky Mountain Restoration, a Mesa, Arizona-based property damage restoration firm. The transaction expands HighGround’s service footprint in the Phoenix metro area and adds water, mold, fire and trauma/biohazard cleanup capabilities to its national restoration platform.

BrightView Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BV) has acquired NatureScape LLC, a Phoenix-based commercial landscape maintenance and development company. The acquisition expands BrightView's footprint in Maricopa County and brings NatureScape's 110 employees and client relationships into BrightView's national platform; terms were not disclosed.

BMS CAT, the disaster recovery division of Blackmon Mooring, has acquired Stratton Restoration, a Gilbert, Arizona-based provider of fire and water damage remediation. The acquisition marks BMS CAT's entrance into Arizona and expands the company's national footprint as part of its ongoing strategic roll-up of regional restoration firms.

Terracon has acquired Environmental Planning Group (EPG), a Phoenix-based environmental and landscape architecture consulting firm. The addition of EPG's ~50 employees and regional offices strengthens Terracon's environmental planning, permitting, GIS, and related capabilities across the Southwest and Western United States.
