Telecommunications Acquisitions in Idaho

Oscium has acquired MetaGeek to combine MetaGeek’s Wi‑Fi analysis software (InSSIDer, Wi‑Spy, Chanalyzer) with Oscium’s wireless test hardware. The deal brings MetaGeek co‑founder Brian Tuttle back to lead software development and aims to deliver integrated hardware‑software wireless troubleshooting solutions.

Funds advised by Basalt Infrastructure Partners have closed the acquisition of Fatbeam Holdings, LLC from a fund managed by SDC Capital Partners and other investors. Fatbeam is a fiber broadband provider operating ~1,250 route miles across the western United States; Basalt said it will partner with management to continue the company’s growth and expand connectivity to education, commercial, carrier, and government customers.

Ericsson has agreed to acquire Cradlepoint, a U.S.-based leader in wireless edge WAN and 4G/5G enterprise solutions, for an enterprise value of USD 1.1 billion. Cradlepoint will operate as a fully owned subsidiary headquartered in Boise, Idaho and will join Ericsson's Business Area Technologies & New Businesses to strengthen Ericsson's 5G Enterprise portfolio.

Winegard Company has acquired WiFiRanger, a Meridian, Idaho-based developer of American-built mobile wireless routers and cloud-managed connectivity solutions. WiFiRanger will operate as a standalone brand within Winegard, enabling Winegard to expand its mobile connectivity, cloud and IoT capabilities and broaden its product offerings for the RV, marine and other mobile markets.

Funds managed by SDC Capital Partners have acquired a majority interest in Fatbeam Holdings, LLC, providing the fiber network operator with capital to accelerate densification and strategic expansion across the western United States. Fatbeam’s existing majority shareholders will retain a material ownership stake and SDC will partner with the management team to support growth across education, enterprise, healthcare, government and carrier end markets.
