Transportation Acquisitions in Georgia

PrimeFlight Aviation Services has acquired GAT Airline Ground Support from private equity firm Atlantic Street Capital. GAT, a Peachtree City, Georgia-based provider of ground handling, cargo handling and catering (Sky Café) services with ~6,000 employees across nearly 70 North American airports, will expand PrimeFlight's footprint and capabilities in airline ground services and catering.

Ryder System, Inc. has acquired Truck Service Depot, an Atlanta-based mobile maintenance provider for commercial trucks and trailers, expanding its Torque by Ryder retail mobile maintenance footprint in Georgia and the broader Southeast. The deal, which closed January 5, 2026, adds more than 20 technicians and two physical sites (Atlanta and Savannah) to Ryder's network; founder Scott Marshall will support the transition and financial terms were not disclosed.

WOW Cargo Trailers, a large North American trailer dealership headquartered in Cochran, Georgia, has acquired American Trailer Pros, an internet-based trailer sales company, to expand its digital reach and distribution capabilities. The company also announced a new physical location opening near Orlando, Florida, as part of a broader plan to accelerate North American growth through additional dealer acquisitions and expanded regional access.

Geotab has acquired Verizon Connect's commercial operations in Australia and nine European countries, welcoming over 400 Verizon Connect employees as part of the deal. The transaction— which excludes Verizon Connect's product, engineering and other non-sales teams—expands Geotab's global footprint and strengthens its offering to small- and mid-sized fleets.

Seneca Partners, an independent financial sponsor, has acquired Nomlas Ventures Inc. (doing business as Busmax), a Rome, Georgia-based passenger bus, van and car rental company. Backcast Partners provided and agented the senior secured debt (with warrants) to support the transaction; the Salmon family will retain a minority ownership stake.

North American Rail Solutions, through its subsidiary American Track, has acquired Rapid Track, a Tyrone, Georgia-based rail maintenance and construction services provider. The deal expands American Track's footprint in the Southeast U.S.; Rapid Track's owners Shannon and Brandi Shockley will transition following the sale.

Allstates WorldCargo has acquired Saturn Freight Systems to expand its operational capabilities, enhance service offerings, and increase market share in time-sensitive freight forwarding and logistics. Saturn Freight Systems will continue to operate under its brand and retain its existing team as part of a planned smooth integration.

Janus International Group, Inc. has acquired Terminal Maintenance and Construction (TMC), a provider of trucking terminal renovation, remodeling and maintenance services in the U.S. Southeast. The purchase is intended to strengthen Janus's Facilitate division and expand the company's facility maintenance capabilities for self-storage and commercial customers.

Oliver Wyman, a business of Marsh McLennan, has agreed to acquire SeaTec Consulting Inc., a provider of consulting, engineering, and digital services for the aviation, aerospace & defense, and transportation industries. SeaTec will integrate with Oliver Wyman's CAVOK aviation division to expand technical services and scale aviation, aerospace, and defense consulting capabilities globally; the transaction is expected to close in Q1 2024.

Bulk Express Transport, a portfolio company of Alterna Equity Partners, has acquired Attaway Hauling and Choice Bulk Carriers. The acquisition expands Bulk Express's footprint and service offering across the Southeastern United States, combining transfer station management, long-haul waste transportation and bulk materials hauling; the combined businesses operate roughly 200 trucks and ~200 employees.

Eagle Transport Corporation has acquired Bulk Carriers, Inc., a Dalton, Georgia-based dry bulk trucking company. The acquisition expands Eagle Transport’s dry bulk transportation capacity and regional footprint, adding Bulk Carriers’ tractors, trailers and experienced operations team to Eagle’s southeastern network.

Montreal-based Valsoft Corporation has acquired Datatrac Corporation, a 40+-year provider of cloud-based last-mile courier software based in Metro Atlanta. Datatrac will join Valsoft's Transportation & Logistics portfolio (operating alongside Aspire Software) as an add-on to expand Valsoft's logistics technology capabilities and customer offerings.

LongueVue Capital has recapitalized RBW Logistics and partnered with CEO Frank Anderson to provide growth capital to fund the company's expansion throughout the Southeastern United States. Headquartered in Augusta, Georgia, RBW operates nine facilities across Georgia and South Carolina (over 2 million sq ft) and employs 200+ people, offering warehousing, fulfillment, and value‑added 3PL services to blue‑chip customers in consumer staples, industrials, and durable goods markets.

HCI Equity Partners announced the sale of SouthernAg Carriers, a Georgia-headquartered transportation and logistics provider focused on agricultural and food-product hauling, on July 8, 2022. The buyer was not disclosed in the announcement; HCI served as the selling party and Republic Partners and Vedder Price advised SouthernAg on the transaction.

Creative Bus Sales, the nation's largest bus dealership based in Chino, California, acquired Alliance Bus Group, a multi-state bus dealership headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The acquisition expands Creative's sales and service network to 21 locations and strengthens its support footprint for transit, school, and retail bus customers across the U.S.

Transportation Insight has acquired Spend Management Experts LLC to strengthen its parcel optimization, small‑parcel and e‑commerce transportation management capabilities. Spend Management Experts will operate as Transportation Insight's small parcel division with CEO John Haber leading the unit from its Atlanta office.

The Home Depot agreed to acquire HD Supply Holdings, Inc. in a cash tender offer valuing the business at approximately $8 billion, with the deal expected to close in late 2020. The acquisition expands The Home Depot's capabilities and distribution footprint in the maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) market—particularly in multifamily and hospitality end markets—and is expected to be accretive to earnings.

Uber Technologies, Inc. has acquired Routematch, a transit-software provider serving more than 500 transit agencies worldwide. The acquisition combines Uber’s on-demand mobility technology with Routematch’s paratransit, payments, fixed-route tools, and trip-planning capabilities to improve accessibility and expand Uber’s public-transit product offerings.

RoadOne IntermodaLogistics, backed by Nonantum Capital, has acquired Savannah-based Crown Transportation to expand its U.S. Southeast intermodal drayage, transload and warehousing capabilities. The deal adds a Savannah container terminal, over 500,000 square feet of transload/warehouse capacity and ~100 trucks to RoadOne's national network while Crown's leadership will remain to run the business under the RoadOne family of brands.

Funds managed by Harvest Partners have completed the acquisition of Lazer Spot, Inc. from Greenbriar Equity Group. Lazer Spot, headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, is a national leader in outsourced yard management services (trailer spotting and shuttling) operating at 400+ sites across the United States and Canada; management will remain significant owners and Harvest will support organic growth and an accelerated acquisition strategy.

Transportation Insight, a Gryphon Investors-backed enterprise logistics provider, has acquired The Transportation Specialist's Group (TSG) to strengthen its enterprise logistics leadership and expand its service offering. The deal preserves TSG's Atlanta-area office and leadership engagement to ensure continuity while integrating TSG's technology-enabled transportation management capabilities into Transportation Insight's platform.

TFI International’s U.S. last-mile division, TForce Final Mile, acquired certain assets of BeavEx Incorporated and affiliates including Guardian Medical Logistics, JNJW Enterprises, Inc. and USXP, LLC in an approved bankruptcy sale. The asset purchase (US$7.2 million cash plus assumption of certain working capital liabilities) transfers select operations — seven of BeavEx’s 69 locations — and brings approximately US$100 million of annual revenue into TFI’s Logistics and Last Mile segment to expand its final-mile and expedited capabilities.
