Deep Isolation Acquires Freestone Environmental Services

Deep Isolation, a Berkeley-based developer of deep-borehole nuclear waste storage and disposal technology, has acquired Freestone Environmental Services, a Richland, Washington environmental and water-resources consulting firm. The acquisition brings Freestone's team of roughly 25 scientists and engineers and strengthens Deep Isolation's environmental investigation, regulatory planning, and remediation capabilities—particularly experience on the U.S. Department of Energy's Hanford project.
