Nokia Networks Acquires Eden Rock Communications

Nokia Networks has signed an agreement to acquire Eden Rock Communications, the maker of the Eden-NET multivendor Self-Organizing Network (SON) solution, with the transaction expected to close in Q3 2015. The acquisition strengthens Nokia Networks' SON and network optimization capabilities and Eden Rock will spin off a separate company for its spectrum sharing technologies.

The deal values Infinera at an enterprise value of approximately US$2.3 billion (US$6.65 per share) and is intended to create a scaled optical-networks business to accelerate product roadmaps, expand webscale presence and capture EUR 200 million of net operating synergies by 2027.

The deal expands Ribbon’s core-to-edge portfolio (including SBCs, SD-WAN and analytics), is expected to be immediately accretive, and positions Ribbon as a market leader in enterprise Session Border Controllers and network edge orchestration.

NewNet to Acquire Nokia Siemens Networks' WiMAX Business

NewNet Communication Technologies, a Skyview Capital portfolio company, announced plans to acquire the WiMAX business from Nokia Siemens Networks, including the full product portfolio, related employees and assets, and active customer and supplier contracts. Approximately 300 Nokia Siemens Networks employees (many in suburban Chicago, USA and Hangzhou, China) are expected to transfer; the deal was expected to close before December 31, 2011 and terms were not disclosed.
