Fresh Express Inc. has acquired McEntire Produce Inc., a Columbia, South Carolina-based fresh-cut processor, repacker and wholesaler, to form a newly branded Foodservice Division under the McEntire Produce name. The deal combines McEntire's regional foodservice capabilities, wash-system technology and distribution fleet with Fresh Express's national retail supply footprint, grower network and supply-chain capabilities to expand foodservice reach and enhance food safety and innovation.
Blue Water Development has acquired Santee Lakes KOA Journey, a 167-site family-friendly campground on Lake Marion in Summerton/Santee, South Carolina. Blue Water plans a $4.0 million renovation to upgrade RV sites and amenities to position the property as a premier KOA RV resort along the I-95 corridor.
NovaTaste, a global taste-innovation company headquartered in Austria, has acquired McClancy Foods & Flavors from Dallas-based private equity firm CIC Partners. McClancy will continue to operate under its brand with the existing leadership team (including CEO Stephen Andresen) remaining in place and retaining significant ownership, while gaining access to NovaTaste's international innovation capabilities and distribution network.
Carroll Daniel Construction Co., a Georgia-based construction firm, has acquired the assets of Greenville-based O'Neal Inc. Engineering and its subsidiaries Quest Site Solutions, InFab Piping Services, and Bridge Automation. The acquired businesses and personnel (adding over 100 engineers and support staff) will combine with Carroll Daniel's existing Architecture and Engineering groups to operate as Carroll Daniel Engineering to expand integrated engineering, procurement and construction capabilities across the United States. CHA Consulting, Inc. has acquired Civil Engineering Consulting Services, Inc. (CECS), a Columbia, South Carolina–based transportation engineering firm with 85 employees. CECS will rebrand immediately as CHA, expanding CHA's transportation capabilities and presence across South Carolina and the southeastern United States; CHA is a portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital.
CyberProof, a UST company, has acquired Interpres Security, a Mount Pleasant, South Carolina-based vendor recognized for Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and Automated Security Control Assessments (ASCA). Doman Building Materials Group Ltd. (TSX:DBM) acquired the assets of CM Tucker Lumber Companies, LLC ("Tucker Lumber") for a base purchase price of approximately US$255 million in cash. The asset purchase, completed October 1, 2024, adds Tucker's three facilities (headquartered in Pageland, South Carolina) and ~425 employees, expanding Doman's treated-wood capacity and Eastern U.S. footprint and is expected to be immediately accretive.
