Dental Acquisitions in Florida

Dr. Craig Barney, operating as DeLand Family Dental, has acquired the long-standing dental practice of Dr. Joseph Goodreau in DeLand, Florida. Dr. Barney plans to maintain patient-centered care while introducing modern technologies (digital imaging, iTero scanning) and expanded preventive and restorative services.

Heartland Dental, a portfolio company of KKR, has acquired Smile Design Dentistry from Tenex Capital Management. Smile Design operates 60 dental practices across Florida with a clinical and support team of more than 300 employees; the deal (an add-on to Heartland's DSO platform) closed on September 5, 2025 and expands Heartland's presence and clinical support capabilities in Florida.

Sage Dental, a Boca Raton–based dental service organization, has acquired The Dental Group in Fort Lauderdale. The practice, led by Dr. Henry Rodriguez-Martin, will operate as Sage Dental of Oakland Park and join Sage’s network of 140+ supported practices to gain access to centralized technology, billing, and multi-specialty resources.

Parkview Dental Partners, a Sarasota-based dental growth and management partnership backed by Cathay Capital, acquired the periodontist practice of Dr. Douglas C. Wendt, Jr. in Brandon, Florida. The practice will operate as Ross and Wendt, Periodontics and Dental Implants, expanding Parkview's footprint to 25 practices and adding specialized periodontics and implant capabilities to better serve the West Coast of Florida.

Parkview Dental Partners, a dentist-founded DSO backed by Cathay Capital, has acquired two Lifetime Smiles Dental Care practices in Sarasota and St. Petersburg, Florida. The practices — owned by Dr. Christopher Donato — will continue operating under the Lifetime Smiles brand as part of Parkview's Gulf Coast expansion following its recent Breezy Dental acquisition.

Today's Dental Network, LLC (TDN), a multi-specialty dental practice network backed by HealthEdge Investment Partners, has formed a partnership with Brown and Brown Dentistry — bringing Vero Implants & Periodontics and Vero Elite Dentistry in Vero Beach, Florida into TDN's partner network. The deal represents TDN's first entry into the Vero Beach market and expands its specialty periodontal and implant capabilities in Florida.

Parkview Dental Partners, a Cathay Capital–backed dental support organization (DSO) based in Sarasota, Florida, has acquired Breezy Dental, a dental practice in Tampa, Florida. The deal expands Parkview's presence along the Gulf Coast and brings Breezy Dental access to Parkview's operational support services.

Sage Dental, a Boca Raton–based dental service organization, acquired Children's Dentistry in the New Tampa area from Dr. Gregory Stepanski. The location will become Sage Dental Kids of New Tampa — the DSO's first dedicated pediatric/orthodontic practice — and is expected to officially launch on April 29, 2024 to expand Sage's pediatric service offerings in the region.

Abu Dhabi sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company has invested in Dental Care Alliance (DCA) in a recapitalization alongside funds managed by Harvest Partners, LP. The transaction leaves Mubadala and Harvest Partners jointly controlling DCA and is intended to accelerate growth, innovation and development across DCA’s multi-site dental platform.

Today's Dental Network (TDN), a multispecialty dental practice network backed by HealthEdge Investment Partners, has formed a partnership with Dr. Manav Malik to add SmileWorks Kids Dentistry in Sarasota, Florida to its partner network. The move expands TDN's pediatric specialty vertical and brings the practice into TDN's centralized practice-management platform and support services.

National Dentex Labs (NDX) has acquired Biotech Dental Prosthetics of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; terms were not disclosed. The Biotech lab will relocate into NDX’s Jupiter, Florida headquarters, with Biotech president Frank Lavonia III becoming general manager of NDX’s new lab; the acquisition expands NDX’s Florida footprint as its fifth full-service lab in the state.

Salt Creek Capital has sold Boyd Industries to the company’s CEO, Adrian LaTrace, in a management buyout. Boyd Industries, a Clearwater, Florida-based manufacturer of dental operatory equipment and clinical cabinetry since 1957, was originally acquired in partnership with Salt Creek in 2012 and serves dental specialists domestically and internationally.

HealthEdge Investment Partners and Synergistic Capital Partners completed an investment in Today's Dental Network (TDN), a multi-specialty concierge dental practice network supporting 17 locations across Southwest Florida. The capital and partnership will support TDN’s growth plan to expand via additional partnership and specialty practice acquisitions while providing centralized practice-management services and technology.

Comvest Partners has made an investment in Leixir Dental Group, a technology-enabled provider of outsourced dental laboratory solutions. The deal will support Leixir's growth and expansion of its digital design and manufacturing capabilities while founder Harmeet Bindra remains CEO and Executive Chairman.

RoundTable Healthcare Partners has acquired DDS Lab, a Tampa-based national dental laboratory that provides fixed crown and bridge, removable, implant and orthodontic products to over 11,000 dentists across the U.S. The deal — sold by prior investors Blue Sea Capital and CITIC Capital Partners — will serve as a platform investment for RoundTable to expand capabilities and investments in digital manufacturing and customer service; financial terms were not disclosed.

Cerberus Capital Management affiliate has acquired National Dentex Labs (NDX), the largest network of fully‑owned dental labs in the United States. Cerberus said the investment will support NDX’s growth through strategic lab acquisitions, expansion of manufacturing capabilities, and investments in dental technologies while the current management team remains in place.

Smash Labs, LLC, an oral care research and development firm based in Boca Raton, Florida, has acquired miBrite, a Florida-based manufacturer of teeth whitening and oral care products. The acquisition gives Smash Labs full control of the miBrite Teeth Whitening brand to launch new oral care formulations; financial terms were kept confidential.

Fruition Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm, acquired a leading but undisclosed dental health group and established Divergent Partners Management Group (DPMG) as a new dental practice management platform targeting general and specialty dentist practices across Florida. The platform will be led by CEO Marvin Terrell and aims to scale through complementary add-on acquisitions across the Tallahassee–Jacksonville–Tampa “triangle of growth.”

Deca Dental Holdings, a dental services organization backed by Blue Sea Capital, has acquired Bright Smiles of Coral Springs, marking Deca Dental’s first acquisition outside Texas and expansion into the Florida market. Bright Smiles will continue operating under its existing brand while gaining access to Deca Dental’s resources to support patient services and growth as part of the platform’s add-on acquisition strategy.
