Acquisitions in Nebraska in 2024

DSD Business Systems acquired the IN-SYNCH integration platform from ROI, Inc., adding the product as a distinct division within its DSD Technology business unit. The deal brings IN-SYNCH's Sage 100 connectivity and developer tools under DSD's ownership to expand its ERP integration capabilities and ensure continuity for existing customers.

White Cap has acquired TOOFast Supply, a supplier of professional-grade tools and fasteners with four locations in Nebraska that serves commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential end markets. The deal, from owner Roger Kontor, expands White Cap's Central region footprint and adds local capacity and customer relationships for professional contractors.

Rensa Filtration has acquired The Filter Shop, a regional air-filter distributor and service provider with distribution centers and service teams in Omaha, Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa. The deal (Rensa is Audax-backed) expands Rensa's regional footprint and service capabilities across education, healthcare, food manufacturing and data center end markets and gives The Filter Shop access to Rensa's manufacturing and R&D resources.

Omaha-based medical staffing firm Triage has acquired Fremont, Nebraska–based RTG Medical. The acquisition adds RTG’s nursing, long-term care and allied divisions to Triage’s platform, expanding its fulfillment capacity and job pool for travel nurses and allied healthcare professionals.

Wipro Hydraulics, the hydraulics business of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (part of Wipro Enterprises), has acquired Columbus Hydraulics, a US-based hydraulic cylinder manufacturer founded in 1952. The deal strengthens Wipro's manufacturing capabilities and presence in North America and expands its product and customer portfolio across agriculture, construction, turf maintenance and marine end markets.

NativeSeed Group, the seed and erosion-control platform backed by Heartwood Partners, has acquired Arrow Seed, a fourth-generation family-owned seed conditioner and supplier based in Broken Bow, Nebraska. The add-on expands NativeSeed's Midwestern footprint and broadens its product portfolio with additional warm-season and conservation seed varieties.

GQR, a global workforce solutions firm, has acquired Uniti Med, a healthcare staffing company, to strengthen GQR's healthcare staffing capabilities and expand its national coverage. The deal brings nearly 100 employees and approximately 500 contractors into GQR, enhancing its position across travel nursing, locum tenens and other healthcare staffing segments.

Troon, the global leader in golf and club hospitality services, has acquired Lincoln, Nebraska-based CaddieNow, a caddie technology and management company that partners with over 50 clubs across 25 states. The acquisition brings CaddieNow into Troon's caddie services division—alongside CADDIE MASTER and ClubUp—to expand Troon's caddie technology, staffing and management capabilities for private clubs, public courses and resorts.

Stellex Capital Management, a New York-based private equity firm, has acquired The James Skinner Baking Company (J. Skinner), a leading in-store bakery (ISB) and co-packing baked-goods provider headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Stellex said the partnership will fund investments in production capacity expansion, increased automation and new product development to support J. Skinner's growth.

Mitsui & Co., Ltd. has acquired all shares of Taylor & Martin Enterprises, LLC, a US-based truck auction business headquartered in Fremont, Nebraska. Mitsui said the acquisition expands its industrial and mobility capabilities in North America, leveraging Taylor & Martin's auction expertise to grow auction sites and services across the US.

Beacon Roofing Supply (Beacon) completed the acquisition of General Siding Supply, a Midwest building-products distributor headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, adding five branches across Nebraska, Iowa and North Dakota. The purchase expands Beacon's branch footprint in key Midwest markets and deepens its siding, windows and doors offering while bringing General Siding customers access to Beacon's Beacon PRO+ digital ordering platform.

Axcel Learning, a professional education platform backed by Alpine Investors, has entered a partnership to acquire KMK Optometry, a provider of optometry board exam preparation and coaching. The deal (terms undisclosed) brings KMK into Axcel's portfolio as the platform expands into healthcare education and plans to scale KMK's test-prep and coaching offerings.

Coda Resources, Ltd. has acquired Design Plastics Inc., a manufacturer of injection-molded and vacuum-formed plastic parts that serves the off-road automotive parts market. Woodbridge International announced the sale and acted as the sell-side advisor; the deal expands Coda's contract manufacturing and integrated supply-chain capabilities.

Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (Nasdaq: BWMN) has acquired Speece Lewis Engineers, a Lincoln, Nebraska-based transportation, bridge design, surveying, and hydraulics engineering firm. The acquisition — financed with cash, seller notes, and equity — adds roughly $4.0 million in annualized net service billings and expands Bowman's transportation and Midwest footprint.

Senior Market Sales (SMS), an insurance marketing organization based in Omaha, Nebraska, has acquired Pro Insurance Resources, a field marketing organization serving independent agents in the Medicare market across Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. The acquisition expands SMS' national health and wealth distribution network, adds local capabilities near SMS' Omaha headquarters, and gives Pro Insurance Resources access to SMS' technology, training and back-office platform.

Greater Omaha Packing Inc. has acquired Nebraska-based Heartland Proteins, a supplier and blender of meat-and-bone meal for the animal feed industry. The deal brings Heartland's blending capabilities and customer relationships into Greater Omaha's existing rendering and protein supply operations and will be supported by the continued involvement of founder Keith Fulton.

Green Plains Inc. completed its acquisition of the publicly held common units of Green Plains Partners LP, exchanging 0.405 shares of Green Plains common stock and $2.00 in cash (plus unpaid distributions) for each outstanding common unit. As a result, Green Plains Partners became an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Green Plains and its common units will be deregistered and delisted from NASDAQ.
