Acquisitions in Washington in 2015

Demandbase, a leader in account-based marketing, has acquired WhoToo, a Data-as-a-Service company, to combine WhoToo's audience profiles with Demandbase's IP-based identification technology. The acquisition expands Demandbase's data capabilities and creates a larger global data platform for B2B marketers, with the WhoToo team remaining in Seattle.

J M Smith Corporation has acquired the products, services and staff of Integra and will operate them as a subsidiary, Integra LTC Solutions, LLC. The deal brings Integra's pharmacy workflow management products (DocuTrack, DeliveryTrack and Logix) into J M Smith's portfolio to strengthen its capabilities in the long-term care and institutional pharmacy market.

Liberty Hall Capital Partners has acquired LaCroix Industries Inc., a Kent, Washington-based Tier II supplier of formed and machined aerospace parts, and will integrate the business into its Accurus Aerospace platform. The add-on expands Accurus's sheet-metal forming and complementary machining capabilities, strengthens relationships with Boeing, and extends Accurus's geographic footprint into the Pacific Northwest.

Paine & Partners has agreed to sell Icicle Seafoods (Icicle Holdings, Inc.) in two concurrent transactions: Convergence Holdings, Inc. will acquire the company's land-based processing and farmed salmon operations, while Dominion Catchers, LLC will acquire harvesting and processing vessels and associated fishing rights. The buyers have committed to long-term contracts to continue Icicle's diversified seafood operations; the transactions are expected to close subject to customary conditions.

Nokia Networks has signed an agreement to acquire Eden Rock Communications, the maker of the Eden-NET multivendor Self-Organizing Network (SON) solution, with the transaction expected to close in Q3 2015. The acquisition strengthens Nokia Networks' SON and network optimization capabilities and Eden Rock will spin off a separate company for its spectrum sharing technologies.

Mi-Med Supply, a Vista, California–based medical supply provider, acquired Peaks & Plains Inc., a Spokane, Washington–based durable medical equipment and supplies retailer. The transaction, announced by advisor Generational Equity, closed April 30, 2015 and is intended to expand Mi-Med Supply’s retail offering and footprint on the West Coast, particularly in the Pacific Northwest.

SolarWinds has acquired Papertrail, a cloud-based log management service, for $41 million in cash. The acquisition expands SolarWinds' cloud monitoring and log-management capabilities, bringing Papertrail's SaaS log-aggregation technology and customers (including Adobe and GitHub) into SolarWinds' portfolio.

KOMAN Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Natives of Kodiak, acquired Environmental Assessment Services (EAS), an environmental consulting firm headquartered in Richland, Washington. The acquisition, which closed March 5, 2015, expands KOMAN’s environmental services capabilities and adds Federal client experience including work for the Department of Energy.

Aptean acquired Verdiem, a Seattle-based provider of IT energy management software, to integrate Verdiem’s power-management and analytics capabilities into Aptean’s enterprise software offerings. The acquisition expands Aptean’s service and support portfolio by adding tools that help customers reduce energy consumption and operating costs across distributed IT devices.

Pacific Northwest Capital Group, a Seattle-based venture capital firm and registered SBIC, acquired Iden's Detailing, Inc., a Tukwila, Washington-based auto reconditioning and cosmetic services provider. The acquisition closed on November 29, 2013; the buyer said it plans to partner with management to expand the company's regional footprint and pursue national growth.
