The deal will support accelerated product innovation, increased investment in sales and customer support, and AFS appointed Edward Jenkins as CEO to lead the company’s growth and modernization efforts.
OceanSound Partners, a New York-based private equity firm, has made a strategic/control investment in Burns Engineering, a Philadelphia-headquartered provider of electrical, mechanical and technology systems engineering for transportation and critical infrastructure markets. Certerra, a technology-enabled testing, inspection and certification platform backed by OceanSound Partners, has acquired Tierra, Inc., a Tampa-based geotechnical and materials engineering firm with 27+ years of experience and over 210 employees. The deal expands Certerra's presence and capabilities in the U.S. Southeast—adding laboratory and field testing capacity in Tampa, Orlando and Pensacola—and will enhance service offerings to government, transportation, municipal and commercial infrastructure clients.
Message Broadcast, a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners and Energy Impact Partners (EIP), has acquired the utilities business from West Technology Group’s CX360 division ("West Utilities"). The add-on expands Message Broadcast’s cloud-based customer engagement platform with West Utilities’ high-volume IVR and outage notification capabilities used by over 40 U.S. and Canadian utilities; terms were not disclosed.

The undisclosed deal expands Message Broadcast’s utility-focused product suite and strengthens its position as a leading provider of customer engagement software for electric utilities and other regulated industries.

Northlane and PAR's management will remain investors; financial terms were not disclosed. Gannett Fleming, a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners, has completed a strategic merger with TranSystems, a Sentinel Capital Partners portfolio company, creating a national infrastructure consulting leader with roughly $1.3 billion in combined revenue and more than 5,000 employees.
