Automotive Acquisitions in 2017

Chongqing Boao Industry Co., Ltd acquired FER, the automotive lighting business of Truck‑Lite Co., LLC. FER, based in Eisenach, Germany with over 400 employees, supplies interior and exterior lighting to European OEMs; the deal represents Boao's expansion into European automotive lighting capabilities and markets.

Affiliates of CCMP Capital have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Truck Hero, a leading supplier of aftermarket accessories for pickup trucks and Jeeps. TA Associates (the incumbent majority investor) and Truck Hero's founders will remain significant investors and management will continue to lead the company; the transaction is expected to close in Q2 2017 with terms not disclosed.

Five Points Capital completed a recapitalization of TransGo, a Los Angeles–area specialty manufacturer of automotive transmission valve body parts, with Cascadia Capital acting as exclusive financial advisor to TransGo. A significant portion of the proceeds were distributed to selected charities and existing employees to honor the philanthropic legacy of TransGo’s late founder, Dr. Gilbert W. Younger.
