Industrial Services Acquisitions in Alabama

Superior Environmental Solutions (a Palladium Equity Partners portfolio company) has acquired ChemWorx, a Decatur, Alabama-based specialist in chemical cleaning and fin fan foaming. The add-on transaction expands SES’s technical capabilities and regional footprint across the Southeast; financial terms were not disclosed.

Weinberg Capital Group, a Cleveland-based family office, acquired Pinson Valley Heat Treating Company, Inc. The transaction closed on December 5, 2025; Pinson Valley’s principals (including Don Hendry and Benny Grissom) will remain involved as investors and management, and WCG intends to pursue add-on acquisitions for the business to support growth.

A. Stucki Company has acquired Wheelworx, a provider of railcar wheelset reconditioning services, to strengthen its wheelset production, repair and logistics capabilities. Wheelworx operates manufacturing facilities in Calera, Alabama and Pekin, Illinois with approximately 105 employees; terms were not disclosed.

Carousel Capital has recapitalized CraneWorks, partnering with brothers David and Steve Upton who will remain significant continuing owners. The recapitalization—funded from Carousel’s sixth fund with senior debt provided by PNC Bank, Truist Financial, and Pinnacle Financial Partners—will fund fleet expansion and deepen CraneWorks’ operated crane and equipment rental service offerings from its Birmingham, Alabama base.

Perimeter Solutions Group (PSG), a Bertram Capital-backed national perimeter security platform, has partnered with Tusco, a high-security perimeter solutions contractor, to create PSG's High Security Division. Tusco's management team will continue to lead the business as part of PSG; terms were not disclosed. The deal expands PSG's capabilities for data centers, government and other commercial/industrial customers nationwide.

DuraServ, a PE-backed provider of overhead door and loading dock solutions, has acquired Overhead Door & Fireplace of Montgomery (OHDFP), a Millbrook, Alabama-based provider of commercial and residential garage door and fireplace services. The add-on expands DuraServ’s geographic footprint in Central Alabama and adds fireplace capabilities to its service offering; the transaction is supported by financial partner Leonard Green & Partners.

Apollo has completed the acquisition of PowerGrid Services from The Sterling Group and other existing investors. PowerGrid is a national provider of electric utility maintenance and construction services with more than 1,700 in-house professionals operating across 35 states; Apollo will partner with management and existing investors to support the company’s continued growth and grid modernization efforts.

Shermco Industries, a PE-backed electrical testing and power-systems services provider, has acquired R3L Engineering to expand its technical engineering capabilities and strengthen its presence in the Birmingham, Alabama area. The acquisition expands Shermco’s regional workforce and ability to serve industrial and utility customers across Alabama and the Southeastern United States; terms were not disclosed.

JM Test Systems, a Kanbrick-backed provider of test equipment and calibration services, has acquired Alabama Scale & Instrument, Inc. (ASI) to expand its footprint in the U.S. Southeast and broaden its testing and on-site calibration capabilities. The deal is an add-on to JM Test's platform strategy following its 2023 acquisition by Kanbrick.

Auxo Investment Partners has acquired Southeast Vegetation Management (SEVM), a Brierfield, Alabama–based provider of vegetation management services to U.S. railroads, and will add the business to its Genesis Rail Company platform. The deal expands Auxo's railroad infrastructure maintenance platform, broadens geographic reach in the Eastern U.S., and creates the largest pure-play herbicide rail vegetation management platform alongside Ferrovia.

Superior Environmental Solutions (SES), a Palladium Equity Partners-backed environmental and industrial services platform, has acquired American Remediation & Environmental, Inc. (American Environmental), a Mobile, Alabama-based provider of tank maintenance, remediation and robotic tank cleaning. The add-on expands SES's footprint into Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, adds technical tank-cleaning capabilities, and brings approximately 180 employees to SES's network of 44+ facilities.

SJE Inc., a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, acquired Revere Control Systems on September 16, 2024. The add-on expands SJE's engineered control solutions capabilities and geographic footprint in water/wastewater and industrial control systems, integrating Revere's engineering, design, installation and commissioning services into SJE's ECS division.

Meridian Waste Acquisitions, LLC has acquired the stock of Evergreen Environmental Partners Holdings LLC (EEP) and ADSI Holdings LLC from BTG Pactual Strategic Capital, expanding Meridian Waste’s Southeast footprint. The deal adds the Noble Hill municipal solid waste landfill, an EEP transfer station, more than 50 municipal contracts and additional hauling, administrative and maintenance facilities servicing customers across Alabama and Mississippi; Meridian Waste will integrate the assets with support from its private equity partner Warren Equity Partners.

Pennsylvania Steel Company Inc. has acquired Besco Steel Supply, a steel service center based in Birmingham, Alabama. The acquisition expands Pennsylvania Steel's footprint in the Southeastern United States and broadens its product and service offerings to better serve its customers.

Herc Rentals has acquired Industrial Rental & Sales, LLC, an independent equipment rental provider based in Guntersville, Alabama that serves the greater Huntsville area. The deal (financial terms not disclosed) will expand Herc's local equipment availability and services; Industrial Rental was represented by The Stansberry Firm and is owned/managed by J.D. Miles.

Motion & Control Enterprises (MCE), a Frontenac-backed industrial distributor, has acquired General Machinery Company, Inc., a Birmingham, Alabama-based distributor of automation, electrical, pump and compressed-air products and related repair services. The deal expands MCE's regional footprint and product/service capabilities in Alabama, northwest Florida and eastern Mississippi; General Machinery will continue to operate under its existing leadership.

Thorpe Specialty Services, a Houston-based industrial specialty services provider backed by KLH Capital, has acquired Walburn Industrial Services of McCalla, Alabama. The add-on expands Thorpe's geographic footprint and refractory capabilities, and the combined organization will exceed 1,300 team members across multiple U.S. regions and Canada.

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has acquired S&S Sprinkler, a fire protection and security services provider with five locations across the U.S. Southeast. The deal expands Pye-Barker's Gulf Coast and broader Southeastern footprint while retaining S&S leadership to support growth; financial terms were not disclosed.

Waste Connections, Inc. acquired Arrowhead Environmental Partners from Clairvest Group Inc. and Arrowhead equity holders. The deal adds Arrowhead’s non-hazardous waste-by-rail disposal infrastructure and an Alabama landfill to Waste Connections’ disposal network; Clairvest reported a ~12.3x return on its investment.

The Stephens Group, a Little Rock-based private investment firm, acquired Quality Valve, Inc., a Mobile, Alabama-based distributor of OEM valve replacement and repair parts, from Pfingsten. The transaction closed on December 6, 2022 for undisclosed terms; Audax Private Debt provided debt financing and Lincoln International served as debt advisor.

EVI Industries, Inc. completed the acquisition of Southside, Alabama-based Wholesale Commercial Laundry Equipment, SE, LLC (WCL). The deal adds distribution, installation and maintenance capabilities for commercial and vended laundry equipment across the U.S. Southeast and is part of EVI's ongoing buy-and-build strategy in the commercial laundry distribution and service industry.

Littlejohn & Co. has made a significant growth investment in The Hiller Companies, a Mobile, Alabama–based provider of fire and life safety services; Pon Holdings remains a large investor. Terms were not disclosed. Littlejohn said it will support Hiller’s platform expansion and pursue organic and inorganic growth initiatives, with Baird serving as Hiller’s financial advisor.

Frontline Road Safety, a platform company sponsored by The Sterling Group, has acquired the pavement marking contracting operations of Ozark Striping Company, LLC, expanding Frontline's footprint in the U.S. Southeast. The deal is the eighth add-on for the Frontline platform since its July 2020 formation as Sterling continues to build a national road-safety and infrastructure maintenance platform.

Imperial Dade has acquired North Alabama Chemical, a Decatur, Alabama-based full-service provider of janitorial supplies and services. The deal, Imperial Dade's 50th acquisition under Robert and Jason Tillis, expands the platform's presence in northern Alabama; financial terms were not disclosed.

Versa Integrity Group, a Dorilton Capital-backed industrial inspection services platform, has acquired the commercial Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations ("Avion Commercial") of Avion Solutions. Avion Commercial — based in Huntsville, Alabama — provides drone imagery, inspection, data collection, and training services; Avion Solutions will retain its government services business. The deal expands Versa's non-destructive testing and inspection capabilities by adding unmanned aerial inspection services.

Fairbanks Morse Defense (a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management) has acquired Fluid Filtration Specialists LLC, a U.S.-based provider of flushing, filtration and testing services for marine vessels and heavy-duty engines. The add-on expands FMD's service capabilities for shipyard, defense and commercial marine customers including the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.

Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) has acquired Jet Polymer Recycling, a privately owned plastic recycling company headquartered in Fort Payne, Alabama with three locations in Alabama and Georgia. The acquisition expands ADS's recycling capabilities and secures high-quality recycled polypropylene and high-density polyethylene feedstock to support ADS and its subsidiary Infiltrator Water Technologies, particularly in the southern United States.

Benford Capital Partners formed Argus Monitoring Solutions to acquire Sauls Seismic and Nomis Seismographs, creating a seismic and environmental monitoring platform. Sauls provides outsourced continuous seismic and environmental monitoring (hardware-as-a-service) while Nomis manufactures seismographs; Benford plans to invest in sales, customer service and pursue further M&A to scale the platform.

Fire Safety & Protection, LLC (a portfolio company of Sunny River Management) acquired Total Fire Protection, Inc. effective Sept. 20, 2021. Total, a full-service fire protection contractor based in Alabama and licensed across the Southeast, will be integrated into FSP as part of its strategy to expand its Southeast regional presence; the company was owned by co-owners Donald and Tommy Black.

Parkson Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axel Johnson Inc., has acquired the assets of Schreiber LLC of Trussville, Alabama. The deal augments Parkson's wastewater product portfolio (pumps, headworks, biological and filtration technologies) and expands its aftermarket parts and services presence with a second dedicated facility in the U.S. Southeast.

Tampa-based private equity firm Osceola Capital completed a majority recapitalization of Industry Services Company (ISC), a Mobile, Alabama-headquartered provider of industrial and refractory maintenance services. Concurrent with the recapitalization, ISC completed the add-on acquisition of Guy Nielson Company (GNC), combining GNC with ISC's DG Skouse division to create a broader national industrial maintenance platform.

BHI Energy has acquired Coastal Electrical Construction, a Flomaton, Alabama–based provider of substation, transmission and distribution construction and maintenance services to major utilities in the Southeastern United States. The deal is the third add-on for BHI in the T&D space since its acquisition by AE Industrial Partners and is intended to expand BHI's geographic footprint and service capabilities in the Southeast; terms were not disclosed.

KCM Capital Partners has acquired Industrial Valve Sales & Service (IVS), a specialty valve repair and distribution provider serving power, pulp & paper, chemical and oil & gas customers. Five Points Capital, in partnership with PNC Mezzanine Capital, provided subordinated debt and equity to support the transaction.

Sunbelt Supply, a Clearlake Capital-backed provider of specialty flow control solutions, has acquired Severe Service Specialists (Triple S), a Trussville, Alabama-based provider of valves and services engineered for severe industrial applications. The deal expands Sunbelt's valve and automation product portfolio and adds technical field support to better serve power generation, refining, and other industrial customers; terms were not disclosed.
