The acquisition expands HistoryIT’s offerings to capture contemporary, community-generated memories for nonprofits, alumni groups, faith-based organizations and similar institutions, preserving them to professional digital-archival standards.

ECI Software Solutions has acquired Amper Technologies, a Chicago-based maker of the FactoryOS manufacturing execution system (MES). The deal integrates Amper's AI-driven shop-floor visibility and predictive capabilities into ECI's cloud-based ERP and industry-specific software suite to deliver end-to-end planning-to-execution workflows for small and mid-sized manufacturers.

Frontier Growth has made a strategic growth investment in Sprocket Sports, a Chicago-based provider of an all-in-one software and services platform for youth sports club management. The investment will support Sprocket's product innovation and expansion of support for youth sports organizations, and Frontier Growth partner Tim Bechtold will join Sprocket's board.

GovHost has acquired True North Software LLC, an Illinois-based provider of cloud-native Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) software for small and mid-sized law enforcement agencies. The acquisition expands GovHost's cloud public-safety portfolio, adding True North's state compliance, LEADS 3.0 integration, and real-time NIBRS validation capabilities while keeping True North leadership and operations intact.

Clariti has acquired CivCheck, an AI-driven plan review platform that automates checks required for building permits and planning approvals. The acquisition expands Clariti’s permitting product suite and accelerates AI-assisted capabilities to reduce permit approval times and improve productivity for local governments.

Izzi Software has acquired Chicago-based CNX Corporation, maker of the Valence framework for IBM Power Systems, to expand Izzi’s product and service offerings into the IBM Power ecosystem. The deal will allow Izzi to grow the CNX team and accelerate development and support for Valence, strengthening its capabilities in legacy-application modernization and low-code app development for IBM Power customers.

Command Alkon, a provider of software and technology solutions for the heavy building materials industry, has acquired Digital Fleet, a Chicago-based fleet management software provider previously owned by Ozinga Ventures. The acquisition brings Digital Fleet's product suite and team into Command Alkon's Command Cloud ecosystem to expand fleet management capabilities, improve visibility and logistics for materials producers, and scale Digital Fleet's solutions globally.

ECI Software Solutions has acquired Davisware LLC, a provider of ERP and field service management software, from Serent Capital. The acquisition adds Davisware’s Vision, GlobalEdge, and GlobalWarranty products to ECI’s portfolio and expands ECI’s footprint across commercial food equipment, commercial HVAC & refrigeration, petroleum equipment, and overhead garage door industries in North America.

Hudl has acquired FastModel Sports to integrate FastModel’s play design, scouting and recruiting tools into Hudl’s video and analytics platform. The deal enhances Hudl’s basketball and ice hockey offerings, creating a unified workflow for coaches and teams across professional, collegiate and youth sports.

Valsoft Corporation has acquired Digital Currency Systems (DCS), a provider of point-of-sale software for the alternative financial services industry. DCS will join Valsoft's portfolio of financial services software businesses, with the deal intended to accelerate product development and expand Valsoft's check-cashing technology footprint.

Onit has acquired Legal Files Software, Inc., a long-standing provider of legal case and matter management solutions, to strengthen its workflow automation and AI capabilities for legal teams. The acquisition expands Onit's footprint into industries where Legal Files has deep penetration — including insurance, education and government — and brings Legal Files' ~500 customers and decades of domain expertise into Onit's product portfolio.

Arcadea Group has made a growth investment in Computer Information Systems (CIS), a Highland Park, Illinois–based provider of public safety software (CAD, RMS, JMS). The investment will support CIS's North American growth and product development while CEO Michael Yefsky remains in place and retains ownership.

Case IQ, a Resurgens Technology Partners–backed provider of investigative case management and whistleblower solutions, has acquired Lextegrity, a compliance analytics and automation software company. The acquisition unifies real-time compliance monitoring, third-party risk oversight, approvals and disclosures, and investigative case management into a single end-to-end compliance and risk management platform.

Regnology has acquired CG3-1 REGTECH LLC (CG3-1), a US specialist in regulatory capital calculations for broker-dealers, to expand its footprint in North America and bolster its broker-dealer regulatory offerings. The deal (effective immediately) will integrate CG3-1's 15c3-1 and 15c3-3 calculation capabilities into Regnology's regulatory reporting platform to deliver end-to-end reporting, automation and enhanced workflow efficiency.

American Express has acquired Chicago-based reservation and event management platform Tock from Squarespace to expand its global dining network and digital tools for restaurants and merchants. Tock will operate as an independent division of American Express Global Dining and will connect roughly 7,000 venues to American Express's network.

Message Broadcast, a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners and Energy Impact Partners, has acquired AGENT511, a Northbrook, Illinois-based provider of customer and constituent engagement solutions for utilities and local governments. The undisclosed deal expands Message Broadcast’s utility-focused product suite and strengthens its position as a leading provider of customer engagement software for electric utilities and other regulated industries.

SmartSights, a Capstreet-backed provider of operational intelligence software, has acquired Chicago-based Sage Clarity, a maker of manufacturing activity data and analytics applications. The add-on deal (terms not disclosed) will integrate Sage Clarity's real-time machine and operational analytics into the SmartSights platform to expand detection, issue management and root-cause analysis capabilities for manufacturers.

ImageTrend, a Lakeville, Minnesota-based provider of Fire and EMS data and analytics software, has acquired FlowMSP, a Park Ridge, Illinois-based pre-incident planning software platform. The acquisition expands ImageTrend's pre-incident planning and response capabilities, enabling customers to consolidate vendors and access integrated incident planning and dispatch distribution tools; financial terms were not disclosed.

RapidWorks has acquired Visual Dispatch, a leading crane services operations software provider, to strengthen its product offering and expand its presence in the crane and heavy equipment services market. The Visual Dispatch team will join RapidWorks, with founder Chris Kinser becoming Vice President, Crane Services, to ensure continuity and accelerate market expansion.

Evergreen (via its Pine Services Group ERP vertical) has acquired ETHOSystems, a provider of integrated construction and commercial real estate business software solutions. ETHOSystems will operate independently within Pine Services Group, marking Pine's tenth ERP acquisition and positioning ETHOSystems to scale with access to shared resources and Evergreen's permanent-hold model.

Storable, a leading provider of technology solutions for the self-storage industry, has acquired CallPotential, a Naperville-based provider of tenant engagement and performance management software. The acquisition (closed August 4, 2023) expands Storable's product suite by adding automated collections, lead management, contact center software, performance management, and marketing analytics capabilities; Storable is PE-backed by EQT.

RF Investment Partners has made a growth capital investment in Nextpoint, a founder-led legal technology company headquartered in Chicago. The investment will support Nextpoint’s product development, operational improvements, geographic expansion, and potential add-on M&A to accelerate growth in the legal tech market.

Applitools has acquired Preflight, a low-code test automation platform, to expand its AI-powered testing capabilities and offer end-to-end test authoring for users of all skill levels. The acquisition brings Preflight's low-code test authoring into Applitools' Eyes and Ultrafast Test Cloud, enabling broader AI-driven test authoring, execution, and analysis across organizations.

Gauge Capital has made a strategic growth investment to recapitalize Streamline Healthcare Solutions. The investment will support Streamline’s SmartCare EHR platform for behavioral health providers, enabling product development, infrastructure investment, and accelerated growth under the existing founders and management team.

Relativity has acquired Heretik, a contract review company that combines machine learning and advanced analysis to extract structured data from agreements. Heretik will be integrated into RelativityOne as "Relativity Contracts," providing purpose-built contract review and intelligence capabilities and will be available as an add-on in mid-2023.

Aptean, a provider of industry-specific enterprise software, acquired Produce Pro Software to enhance its Food & Beverage ERP capabilities and add functionality tailored to fresh produce and perishables distribution. Produce Pro, headquartered in Woodridge, Illinois, will leverage Aptean's global scale and resources to expand product development and customer support for food distributors across North America.

Boathouse Capital has completed a growth equity investment in Spark Hire, a SaaS video interviewing platform. The capital will be used to accelerate product development and modernize Spark Hire's go-to-market strategy as the company expands its platform serving thousands of enterprise and SMB customers.

Trading Technologies (TT) has acquired RCM-X, a provider of algorithmic execution strategies, trade analytics and TCA services, and will integrate RCM-X’s products and team into the TT trading platform. The deal is TT’s first acquisition since TT itself was acquired by 7RIDGE in December 2021 and strengthens TT’s execution-algorithm and analytics capabilities for institutional clients.

Constellation Software, through its subsidiary N. Harris Computer Corporation (Harris), agreed to acquire the net assets of Allscripts' Hospitals and Large Physician Practices business segment, including Sunrise, Paragon, TouchWorks and related solutions. The transaction, valued at up to $700 million (including contingent consideration), is a divestiture by Allscripts intended to focus its portfolio while Harris expands its healthcare software capabilities.

RFPIO has acquired InHub, an RFx management platform focused on the investment community, and will integrate the business into its RFP360 division to expand capabilities for financial services, investment and consulting teams. InHub's founder Ariana Amplo will join RFPIO's leadership to help scale the product and customer success offerings globally.

Gamma Technologies, a Westmont, Illinois developer of GT‑SUITE multi‑physics simulation software, received a strategic growth investment from Insight Partners. Existing investors TA Associates and Cove Hill Partners are continuing their support, with TA making an additional investment as GT looks to accelerate product development, technology research and market expansion.

Cognizant has agreed to acquire Devbridge, a Chicago‑headquartered digital product and technology consultancy, to expand its software product engineering capabilities and global delivery footprint. The deal adds more than 600 engineers, designers and product managers across Lithuania, Poland, the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada; Devbridge employees will join Cognizant Softvision. Financial terms were not disclosed and the transaction was expected to close in late 2021.

Boston-based growth investor M33 Growth made a strategic growth investment in ARES PRISM, a provider of enterprise project controls and project cost-management software. The financing will accelerate product development and scaling while the company brought in Ryan Kubacki as CEO following founder Richard Stuart’s retirement.

CallMiner has acquired OrecX, a North America-based provider of audio and screen capture software used for call recording and analytics. The acquisition brings OrecX's recording technology and integrations (on-premise and CCaaS) into CallMiner's conversation analytics platform to strengthen real-time and post-call transcription and expand use cases across contact centers, enterprise sales and healthcare.

Grover Gaming acquired the assets of Lake Zurich, Illinois-based Digital Dynamics Software, Inc., a developer of SAS Engine, SAS Gateway, Backdrop casino management software and the GAP gaming protocol. The deal expands Grover Gaming's technical capabilities for connecting SAS-based electronic gaming systems and establishes a new Chicago-area office to support growth into Illinois.

InRule Technology, a portfolio company of OpenGate Capital, has acquired Chicago-based simMachines, a provider of explainable AI (XAI) and machine learning software. The add-on expands InRule's decision automation platform by integrating simMachines' XAI capabilities to deliver more transparent, auditable AI-driven predictions for regulated enterprise customers; financial terms were not disclosed.

Bridgeline Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLIN) has agreed to acquire HawkSearch, an AI-powered product search and recommendations platform based in the Chicago area. The acquisition adds HawkSearch's site search and merchandising capabilities to Bridgeline's Unbound/eCommerce360 product suite to improve personalized search, recommendations and conversion for online retailers.

Montreal-based Valsoft Corporation has acquired Vertical Software Inc., a Peoria, Illinois company that provides grain industry scale automation and grain accounting software (ScaleTrac and GrainTrac). Vertical will continue operating from its Illinois office and the deal expands Valsoft's footprint in the scale automation / grain software vertical.

Thoma Bravo has agreed to acquire a majority interest in Flexera, a Chicago-area software company that provides IT asset management and software monetization solutions. Existing investors TA Associates and the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan will remain meaningful shareholders as Thoma Bravo partners with management to accelerate growth and expand Flexera's SaaS offerings such as Flexera One.

MRI Software has acquired MacMunnis, Inc., a Chicago-based provider of lease administration software and managed services, to expand its MRI @Work occupier offering. The acquisition brings cloud-based lease administration, payment processing, lease abstraction and audit services into MRI’s platform to better serve corporate occupiers and address lease accounting standards compliance.

Funds affiliated with private equity firms Thoma Bravo and Madison Dearborn Partners completed investments in Syntellis Performance Solutions, enabling the company to operate as a standalone, software-focused business. The transaction provides capital and resources to accelerate product innovation, expand client services, and support growth across healthcare, higher education and financial institution markets.

HealthChampion, a Chicago-based digital health analytics company, completed the acquisition of Chicago software development firm alligatortek. The deal brings alligatortek's development team and CEO Sid Bala onto HealthChampion's team and board, quadrupling HealthChampion's engineering resources to accelerate platform delivery and expand remote care and data analytics capabilities.

Blue Horizon Software Holdings acquired a majority interest in Synthesis Technology, an enterprise content automation and sales enablement software provider for the investment management industry. The investment gives Synthesis a long-term partner to support product and market expansion while Blue Horizon provides capital and operational expertise.

Tegra118, a Motive Partners portfolio company, has acquired Illinois-based RetireUp, a provider of retirement income planning software. The deal integrates RetireUp's retirement income and annuity modeling capabilities into Tegra118's front-office wealth management platform, and the entire RetireUp team will join Tegra118.

Brainlab, the Munich-based digital medical technology company, acquired Level Ex, a Chicago-based creator of medical video games and simulation apps. The acquisition integrates Level Ex's AR/VR and mobile gaming technology into Brainlab's product suite to expand clinical training, simulation and virtual tools across its healthcare software platforms.

GetUpside, a Washington, D.C.-based digital commerce platform, has acquired A-Frame Ventures to bring A-Frame’s team and capabilities in-house. The deal adds A-Frame co-founder Arman Ghosh to GetUpside’s leadership and supports expansion into new verticals—restaurants, convenience stores, grocery—while GetUpside also hires in Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Austin.

Alfresco Software has acquired Technology Services Group (TSG), a Chicago-based enterprise content management software and services firm. The acquisition brings TSG's 45 engineering and solutions staff, no-code content/case management tools, and deep Alfresco platform expertise to Alfresco's digital business platform; terms were not disclosed.

NinjaTrader, a provider of trading software and brokerage services for active retail futures traders, received a majority growth investment led by Long Ridge Equity Partners with participation from DRW Venture Capital. The capital will be used to accelerate NinjaTrader's product and market expansion while Long Ridge partners join the company's board to support growth.

Tennessee-based Titan Cloud Software has acquired JMM Global, a Chicago-area provider of underground storage tank (UST) compliance software and services for the fuel industry. The deal, led by Titan's equity investor M33 Growth, combines two market leaders to expand Titan's compliance and service capabilities and accelerate growth across retail and commercial fuel operators.
