Engineering Services Acquisitions in 2017

Novacap, a Montreal-based private equity firm, made a strategic growth investment in Leading Edge Geomatics, a Lincoln, New Brunswick provider of aerial LiDAR surveying, geomatics and decision‑support solutions. The founders — Bruce Hogan, Bill Kidman and Will Lowry — remain involved and retain significant ownership; the capital will be used to expand into new markets, support strategic acquisitions and fund R&D.

Timmons Group, a Richmond-based civil and geospatial engineering firm, has acquired Robert H. Vogel Engineering, Inc., a civil engineering, land development and surveying firm based in Ellicott City, Maryland. The acquisition expands Timmons’ Maryland footprint and adds local surveying and land-development capabilities; Chesapeake Corporate Advisors served as exclusive financial advisor to Vogel Engineering.
