Software Acquisitions in 2015

Aptean has completed the acquisition of Medworxx Solutions Inc., a Toronto-based provider of clinical patient flow, compliance and education software used by more than 350 hospitals internationally. The acquisition gives Aptean an entry into the healthcare vertical and expands its enterprise software capabilities for hospital and acute-care customers.

Hyland Software, a portfolio company of Thoma Bravo, has acquired LawLogix, a Phoenix-based SaaS provider of HR compliance and immigration process management solutions. Vista Point Advisors served as financial advisor to LawLogix in the transaction. The deal adds immigration and workforce-compliance capabilities to Hyland's enterprise content management product suite.

Evolving Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: EVOL) has acquired RateIntegration, Inc., d/b/a Sixth Sense Media, a Durham, North Carolina–based provider of real-time analytics and mobile marketing solutions for wireless carriers. The all-cash deal (~$10.0 million in two payments) is intended to accelerate Evolving Systems' move into mobile marketing and advertising by combining Sixth Sense Media's Real-time Lifecycle Marketing platform with Evolving Systems' activation and mobile data enablement products.

J M Smith Corporation has acquired the products, services and staff of Integra and will operate them as a subsidiary, Integra LTC Solutions, LLC. The deal brings Integra's pharmacy workflow management products (DocuTrack, DeliveryTrack and Logix) into J M Smith's portfolio to strengthen its capabilities in the long-term care and institutional pharmacy market.

Tradeshift has acquired Merchantry, a cloud-based product information management (PIM) provider, for $30 million in cash and stock. The deal adds Merchantry’s PIM and e‑commerce marketplace capabilities to Tradeshift’s supplier collaboration platform to extend product data, inventory and pricing management across the Tradeshift network.

AVEVA Group plc acquired FabTrol Systems, a fabrication-management software provider headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, from the Dowco Group for approximately $6.5 million. The acquisition expands AVEVA's fabrication portfolio by integrating FabTrol's estimating, material management and production control capabilities with AVEVA's design and detailing solutions to offer an end-to-end steel fabrication solution.

Aptean acquired Verdiem, a Seattle-based provider of IT energy management software, to integrate Verdiem’s power-management and analytics capabilities into Aptean’s enterprise software offerings. The acquisition expands Aptean’s service and support portfolio by adding tools that help customers reduce energy consumption and operating costs across distributed IT devices.
