Agriculture Acquisitions in New Jersey

Valudor Products, a US-based distributor of chemical raw materials, has acquired the assets of LidoChem Inc., a Hazlet, New Jersey-based supplier of chemical raw materials and specialty fertilizers. The deal, supported by financing from Monroe Capital, is intended to expand Valudor’s product portfolio and accelerate growth into the specialty fertilizers market; terms were not disclosed.

Italian specialty chemicals group Lamberti has completed the acquisition of Aquatrols, a Paulsboro, New Jersey–based developer of specialty surfactants and soil-applied products for turf, agriculture and horticulture. The deal provides Lamberti with expanded capabilities in water-optimization and growing-media products while offering Aquatrols enhanced supply security and resources for innovation; Aquatrols had been majority‑backed by Rural American Fund since 2015.

Central Garden & Pet has entered into an agreement to acquire Hopewell Nursery, a live goods grower headquartered in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The acquisition expands Central's live goods business and scale in the Northeast; Hopewell operates over 1,800 acres, employs approximately 500 people, and the deal is expected to close December 31, 2020 (terms undisclosed).
