Financial Services Acquisitions in 2017

TriCo Bancshares (Tri Counties Bank) acquired FNB Bancorp (First National Bank of Northern California) in a stock transaction valued at approximately $315.3 million (about $40.81 per share). The deal expands TriCo’s presence into the San Francisco Peninsula and broader Bay Area markets.

Accenture has agreed to acquire First Annapolis Consulting, a payments-focused advisory firm headquartered in Annapolis, Maryland, to expand Accenture’s consulting and digital capabilities in the payments sector. Financial terms were not disclosed; the acquisition is expected to close subject to customary conditions.

Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA), the middle-market agency subsidiary of Marsh, signed a definitive agreement to acquire J. Smith Lanier & Co. (JSL). JSL will operate as MMA's Southeast regional hub, with all ~600 employees joining MMA; the deal (terms undisclosed) was expected to close in Q1 2017.

Johnson, Morgan & White completed a strategic merger with Altus GTS Inc., North America’s largest commercial collection agency, to combine capabilities and broaden accounts receivable management services. The combined firm will leverage Altus’s corporate collections platform and JMW’s forensic collection capabilities to expand service offerings, regulatory compliance, and client coverage across the U.S. and Canada.
