Food & Beverage Acquisitions in 2014

Bubbies of San Francisco has acquired Othentic Foods, a New Jersey-based importer of USDA-certified organic and all-natural pickles, sauerkraut and other preserved vegetables from Poland. The acquisition expands Bubbies' specialty fermented and pickled product portfolio and is intended to capture cost and market synergies across natural and specialty grocery channels.

BBX Sweet Holdings, a wholly owned subsidiary of BBX Capital Corp., has acquired the assets of Helen Grace Chocolates, a long-established premium chocolate maker headquartered in Lynwood, California. The deal is the fourth confectionery acquisition for BBX Sweet Holdings in the past year as the company continues to build a portfolio of chocolate brands and maintain Helen Grace's fundraising partnership with Innisbrook.

Great Range Capital led a group of investors, including Mountain Valley's management, to acquire Mountain Valley Water Company, the long-standing premium bottled water brand based in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The private equity firm said the investment will support the company's continued growth and build upon its historic brand and premium product positioning.
