Boat Rocker Media has acquired the principal assets of Proper Television and Proper Rights, adding more than 2,200 half-hours of content and a 35,000 square foot production facility to its operations. Proper will operate as an independent business unit within Boat Rocker, with Lesia Capone and Cathie James named Co-Presidents and the rights business consolidated into Boat Rocker Rights to expand the company's unscripted content and distribution capabilities.

The Walt Disney Company agreed to acquire an additional 42% stake in BAMTech, LLC from MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) for $1.58 billion, giving Disney majority ownership of the streaming-technology business. Disney said it will use BAMTech's direct-to-consumer streaming technology to launch an ESPN-branded multi-sport streaming service in early 2018 and a Disney-branded subscription-video-on-demand service in 2019.
