Agriculture Acquisitions in 2018

Sequel Holdings, L.P. acquired Star Seed, Inc. from Gladstone Investment Corporation (Gladstone Investment) on December 21, 2018. Gladstone Investment sold its equity interest and prepaid its debt investment in Star Seed, a Kansas-based seed distributor with strengths in native grasses, wildflowers, forages and small grains; Gladstone said the sale generated a realized gain.

North American Fur Auctions (NAFA) has acquired American Legend Cooperative (ALC), a U.S.- and Canada-focused agricultural marketing cooperative that processes, markets and sells fur pelts and products. The deal unifies major North American fur industry participants to increase scale and volume, with the combined entities expected to strengthen pricing stability for member patrons.
