Payments & Fintech Acquisitions in Michigan

Reseda Group, a credit union service organization owned by MSU Federal Credit Union, has acquired Tandem, an Ann Arbor-based fintech app that helps couples manage shared finances. Tandem's founders will join Reseda Group as vice presidents as the company integrates the app into a broader family banking ecosystem aimed at Gen Z and Millennial couples and expanding into multi-generational household financial tools.

SWBC's fintech subsidiary SWIVEL Transactions, LLC has acquired Magic-Wrighter, Inc., a Grand Rapids-based payments and ACH service provider. The acquisition expands SWIVEL's payment capabilities—including dealer funding, direct ACH processing, and K-12 school payment solutions—and broadens its reach into banks, credit unions, merchants, and school districts.

PayLink Direct, a Chicago-based payment plan and receivables management provider, has acquired Budco Financial (Detroit, MI), a specialist in automotive payment-plan program management, from ScaleCo. The transaction expands PayLink Direct's payment-plan capabilities and client footprint across OEMs, dealerships and service contract administrators.
