GOcxm, a Toronto-based retail execution and consumer engagement technology provider, has acquired Emotive Technologies, the company behind Apex — an AI-powered consumer insights and decision intelligence platform. The acquisition embeds Apex’s predictive intelligence, simulation, and behavioral-science-trained AI into GOcxm’s Shopper Engagement and Execution Platform to accelerate AI-driven recommendations and improve in-market decisioning.

ConnectWise has acquired zofiQ, an agentic AI company that automates high-volume MSP service desk operations, embedding zofiQ agents into ConnectWise PSA workflows. The acquisition is intended to accelerate ConnectWise's "Age of Autonomous Service," extend agentic automation across its platform (PSA, RMM, cybersecurity, data protection), and help MSP partners scale service delivery without proportionally increasing headcount.

Teamworks has acquired Sportlogiq, the Montreal-based leader in AI-powered hockey analytics, integrating Sportlogiq’s computer vision and tracking technology into Teamworks’ Intelligence platform. Sportlogiq’s team of roughly 80 employees (including 10 AI researchers) and its iCE platform will join Teamworks to expand its analytics, game-preparation, and talent-evaluation capabilities across professional and collegiate sports.

Landbase, the agentic AI GTM platform, has acquired Adauris to accelerate its inbound marketing roadmap by integrating Adauris' content-driven intent signals and publishing capabilities. The Adauris founding team joins Landbase and has already contributed Landbase's first inbound feature (signal-based LinkedIn publishing), furthering Landbase's plan to unify outbound and inbound automation after its $30M Series A.

Nvidia has acquired Toronto-based AI startup CentML, including its technology, employees and customers. Several CentML co-founders and at least 15 engineers have joined Nvidia and CentML will cease operations, with its subscription AI-optimization services being discontinued.

CM Labs Simulations has acquired AI Redefined (AIR), a Montreal-based developer of the Cogment human-AI collaboration platform, to integrate real-time AI capabilities into its Vortex simulation training offerings. The deal expands CM Labs' capability to deliver adaptive, intelligent training solutions for high‑stakes industries such as aerospace, logistics, and renewable energy.

WELL Health Technologies exercised a previously negotiated call option concurrent with HEALWELL AI Inc.'s closing of its NZ$175 million acquisition of Orion Health, acquiring optioned common and multiple-voting shares of HEALWELL. Following the exercise, WELL holds approximately 37% of the economic interest and roughly 69% of the voting rights in HEALWELL and will hold the shares for investment purposes.

DataRobot has acquired Agnostiq, the developer of the open-source distributed computing platform Covalent, to accelerate development and deployment of agentic AI applications through advanced compute orchestration and optimization. The acquisition brings Covalent's multi-cloud, multi-infrastructure orchestration capabilities and open-source community into DataRobot to reduce AI infrastructure complexity and costs and enable scalable agentic AI across heterogeneous compute environments.

Numinus Wellness Inc. has executed a letter of intent to acquire MedBright AI Investments Inc. via a statutory plan of arrangement, with Numinus issuing approximately 1.86 shares per MedBright share (≈204.7M shares, ~39% pro forma). The deal combines MedBright's AI-enabled clinical solutions with Numinus' clinic operations and psychedelic-assisted therapy expertise to AI-enable mental health clinics across the U.S. and strengthen the combined company's path to revenue growth and positive EBITDA.

HubHead Corp. has acquired the assets of DataSeer, Inc. to strengthen its vertical AI capabilities for asset-intensive industries, integrating DataSeer’s AI-driven P&ID extraction and digital-twin data capabilities into HubHead’s NRX AssetHub offerings. The deal expands HubHead’s ability to improve asset and maintenance master data for customers such as engineering firms, system integrators, EPCs and other asset-intensive businesses.

Accenture, through Accenture Ventures, made a strategic investment in Sanctuary AI, a Vancouver-based developer of AI-powered humanoid robots. The partnership aims to accelerate Sanctuary AI's commercialization and deploy its Phoenix robots across industries such as retail, logistics, and manufacturing while leveraging Accenture's enterprise relationships and implementation expertise.

Apple quietly acquired Canadian AI startup DarwinAI earlier in 2024, adding dozens of DarwinAI employees to its AI team. DarwinAI’s technology — focused on making AI models smaller and faster and on visual inspection for manufacturing and supply chains — will be used to help Apple run more AI capabilities on devices for iOS 18 and other products.

GeologicAI, a Calgary-based developer of AI-driven core scanning robots and software, has acquired Resource Modeling Solutions (RMS), a geostatistics and geometallurgy consultancy and software provider. The acquisition expands GeologicAI’s modeling and subsurface interpretation capabilities, enabling broader end-to-end technology solutions for mining, environmental, and petroleum clients.

HubStar, a hybrid workplace technology provider, has acquired Ottawa-based Relogix, a workplace occupancy sensor and analytics company. The deal combines HubStar's AI-powered utilization measurement capabilities with Relogix's Conexus platform and sensor hardware to expand HubStar's product capabilities and market leadership in workspace analytics.

Calabrio has acquired Wysdom, a Toronto-based provider of AI/ML-driven chatbot and virtual agent analytics, to expand Calabrio ONE’s conversational intelligence and bot-management capabilities. The deal integrates Wysdom’s real-time bot performance analytics into Calabrio’s omnichannel contact center analytics and workforce performance suite to drive improved agent productivity and virtual-agent effectiveness.

SandboxAQ has acquired Good Chemistry, a Vancouver-based computational chemistry company, to enhance its AI-driven simulation and quantum chemistry capabilities. The acquisition adds Good Chemistry's QEMIST Cloud and Tangelo tools, team talent, and customer relationships to SandboxAQ's enterprise AI+Quantum software portfolio.

QuestionPro has acquired PathosAI to integrate PathosAI’s emotional-insights AI into QuestionPro’s research and insights platform. The acquisition expands QuestionPro’s AI-driven capabilities for customer experience and brand research by enabling emotion analysis and prediction within its survey and insights tools.

PartnerHero has acquired Summatti, an AI-powered conversation analytics platform based in Waterloo, Ontario, to accelerate development of its omnichannel CX operations platform. Summatti’s founders will join PartnerHero full-time and the company’s conversation-intelligence technology will be integrated into PartnerHero’s customer operations offerings.

Voices, the global voice-over marketplace, has acquired Voices.ai and plans to launch a next-generation developer platform for voice applications that will include APIs, libraries, documentation and cloud infrastructure. The acquisition supports Voices’ push into AI-generated voices and developer-focused tools to serve use cases such as voice assistants, eLearning and real-time synthetic voice applications.

Sprout Social, a Chicago-based provider of social media management software, acquired Repustate, a Toronto-based sentiment analysis and natural language processing company. The acquisition adds Repustate's AI-powered sentiment analysis and NLP capabilities to Sprout's social listening, messaging and customer care offerings to accelerate product roadmap and improve social customer care and listening features.

Velodyne Lidar has acquired Bluecity, a Montreal-based AI software company that provides lidar-based analytics and traffic/safety solutions. The all-stock deal brings Bluecity's software, development and sales teams into Velodyne to integrate Bluecity's SaaS analytics with Velodyne's lidar sensors and Vella perception software to expand intelligent infrastructure and autonomous vision capabilities.

XMachina AI Group Inc. (formerly 1210352 B.C. Ltd.) completed a business combination on June 7, 2022, pursuant to which it acquired XMachina-AI Inc. and renamed the resulting issuer XMachina AI Group Inc. The Resulting Issuer will carry on XMAI's business, intends to apply to list its subordinate voting shares on the Canadian Securities Exchange, and plans to accelerate growth by injecting capital and talent into AI and data-analytics businesses.

AGCO, the global agricultural machinery manufacturer, has acquired JCA Industries, Inc. (d/b/a JCA Technologies), a Winnipeg-based developer of autonomous software, electronic systems and implement controls for agricultural machinery. The acquisition strengthens AGCO's engineering and software development capabilities—particularly in path planning, sensor fusion and remote-control software—to accelerate delivery of highly automated and autonomous machines.

WELL Health Technologies, through its WELL Ventures subsidiary, made a minority investment in Tali.ai and entered a five-year strategic alliance to commercialize Tali.ai's AI voice assistant across WELL's EMR portfolio and apps.health marketplace. The deal gives WELL access to Tali.ai's NLP-driven voice capabilities for clinicians and enables Tali.ai to be beta-tested in WELL clinics and offered to over 15,000 providers across Canada.

Salesfloor acquired Montreal-based conversational AI provider Automat to integrate guided shopping, product recommendations and personalization into its virtual shopping and clienteling platform. The deal brings Automat’s AI capabilities (used by brands such as L’Oréal and Colgate-Palmolive) into Salesfloor’s platform to boost omnichannel retail personalization and sales performance.

Microsoft has acquired Two Hat, a Kelowna-based provider of AI-powered content moderation and digital-wellness solutions. The deal will integrate Two Hat’s moderation technology and team into Microsoft’s efforts to improve safety across Xbox, Minecraft and other Microsoft consumer and partner services.

Litera has agreed to acquire Kira Systems, a Toronto-based leader in machine learning contract analysis, to strengthen its Transaction Management platform and expand due diligence workflows. As part of the deal, Kira majority investor Insight Partners will become a minority investor in Litera while Hg remains Litera's majority investor; Kira's AI research team will spin out as a new company, Zuva.

Hootsuite acquired Montreal-based conversational AI platform Heyday for approximately CA$60 million to add enterprise-grade customer messaging and AI automation to its social commerce and customer care offerings. The acquisition integrates Heyday's conversational AI and e-commerce integrations into Hootsuite's social media management platform to enable brands to deliver personalized 1:1 messaging experiences at scale.

Life Clips, Inc. (OTC Pink: LCLP) has closed the acquisition of Cognitive Apps Software Solutions Inc., an AI-powered, speech-based mental health analytics platform. Life Clips gains Cognitive Apps' intellectual property and R&D team to further develop the technology for mental health diagnostics, employee/patient monitoring and psychedelic research.

Deloitte Canada has acquired Groundswell Group Inc., a Calgary-based AI and data integration firm, to strengthen its AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, and cloud data engineering capabilities in Western Canada. Groundswell’s ~133 employees and several senior leaders will join Deloitte’s Consulting practice as part of Omnia AI to expand Deloitte’s AI and data transformation offerings.

Kinaxis Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Toronto-based Rubikloud for US$60 million in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition brings Rubikloud’s AI/ML-driven demand forecasting and promotion optimization SaaS capabilities (and ~80 employees) into Kinaxis’s RapidResponse platform to expand its demand-planning capabilities and accelerate entry into the enterprise retail and CPG markets.

Envestnet | Yodlee acquired conversational AI startup Abe AI to integrate Abe's conversational banking and NLP capabilities into Yodlee's financial wellness and retail banking offerings, with plans to extend into Envestnet's wealth management products. The acquisition expands Yodlee's product capabilities by adding natural-language, voice and chat interfaces across major conversational ecosystems.
