Dublin-based travel booking company Hostelworld acquired Richmond-founded event data firm OccasionGenius for $12 million in a deal that closed in October. Hostelworld will integrate OccasionGenius' event database into its app and Social Pass feature while OccasionGenius will retain its name and team and continue servicing existing clients.

MANTECH, a mission-focused provider of cyber, AI and technology solutions, has acquired Elder Research, a data science and AI services firm serving Fortune 500 and U.S. government clients. The acquisition expands MANTECH's Data and AI Practice by adding Elder Research's applied AI capabilities, talent and training offerings to accelerate delivery of real-world AI solutions.

Private investment firms Theatre Capital and Trajectory Capital have completed the purchase of key assets of Association Analytics, forming A2 Holdco LLC to own and operate the business. The firms will partner with CEO Alex DeBarr and the existing management team to invest in and evolve the Acumen analytics platform, accelerate implementations, and enhance customer service.

MIB Group Holdings, Inc. has acquired Clareto, a provider of electronic health record access and medical-data services for the life insurance industry, from Munich Re Life US and entered a strategic partnership with Munich Re to expand access to electronic medical data and build advanced analytics. The combined MIB EHR and Clareto offerings aim to create a market-leading data and analytics platform to streamline underwriting and automated risk assessment for life insurers.

Kpler has completed the acquisition of Spire Maritime, the maritime data and ship-tracking business of Spire Global, in a transaction reported at approximately $241 million. The deal (a divestiture by Spire Global) strengthens Kpler’s maritime data and analytics capabilities; Kpler and regulators including the UK CMA have been engaged as the transaction completed.

Federal Data Systems LLC, formerly a component of FedData Group Holdings LLC, was acquired by a new group of investors and has been rebranded as Clear Fracture LLC. The company will focus on advanced data integration and AI-driven data engineering solutions, and has appointed Brian Frutchey as CTO to lead its technology strategy.

Cendyn, a global hospitality cloud-based technology company, has acquired Knowland, a US-based leader in meetings-and-events data-as-a-service. NUVIEW, an Orlando-based Earth observation and geospatial technology company building a commercial LiDAR satellite constellation, has acquired Astræa, Inc., a Charlottesville-based SaaS platform for AI-driven distribution and analysis of satellite, aerial, and drone imagery. The acquisition brings Astræa's analytics and distribution capabilities into NUVIEW's data pipeline to accelerate delivery of analytics-ready Earth observation data across government and commercial markets.

Diné Development Corporation (DDC), a Navajo Nation–owned government services company, has acquired Spin Systems, Inc. (SpinSys), an award-winning data analytics and AI/ML-driven intelligence visualization software and services firm. The acquisition adds SpinSys’s big-data aggregation, visualization, cloud migration and predictive modeling capabilities to DDC’s existing IT and professional services offerings to better serve U.S. government customers, including the Department of Defense.

ATPCO has acquired 3Victors, a travel data analytics startup founded in 2017; terms were not disclosed and the entire 3Victors team will join ATPCO as a subsidiary. The acquisition is intended to strengthen ATPCO's real-time data science and AI capabilities to accelerate the industry's transition to dynamic pricing and offer creation.

Bridge Core Federal, a NewSpring Holdings platform company, has acquired GeoYeti LLC, a government services firm specializing in advanced analytics, data science, and application development. Databricks Ventures and Interlock Equity have made a strategic growth investment in Arlington, Virginia–based data engineering and business intelligence consultancy Lovelytics to accelerate hiring and expand capabilities in enterprise data environments, AI/LLMs, BI, data science, and cloud infrastructure. Lovelytics' founder and leadership team retain significant ownership and will continue to lead the business; Canaccord Genuity served as exclusive financial advisor.

Endicott Capital has made a strategic growth investment in CFRA, the Charlottesville, Virginia-based provider of independent investment research, data, and analytics. The investment will support CFRA's efforts to scale its commercial, product, and operational teams; terms were not disclosed.

MediQuant, a provider of enterprise data archive technology for healthcare, has completed the acquisition of Knowledge Based Systems, Inc. (KBS), a Dulles Technology Corridor–based company and creator of the KB_SQL product. The tuck-in purchase expands MediQuant's data management capabilities and opens additional channels and markets for its DataArk platform and related offerings.

Science & Medicine Group (SMG), a data intelligence company based in Arlington, Virginia, acquired the assets of Amplion Inc., an AI-powered data intelligence platform for life-science commercial teams. Affiliates of private equity firm ZMC have made a strategic investment in Resonate, the Reston, Virginia–based provider of AI-powered consumer data and the Resonate Ignite SaaS platform. The investment will fund expansion of Resonate’s product and AI/data capabilities, accelerate customer acquisition, and support organic and inorganic growth; terms were not disclosed.

Galway Holdings has acquired Simatree, a Virginia-based strategic advisory firm specializing in data, analytics, technology consultation and digital transformation. The deal brings Simatree’s data and analytics capabilities into Galway’s financial-services-focused platform to support digital transformation work across insurance, wealth management and related businesses.

Dynata has acquired 0ptimus Analytics, an AI/ML data science and technology company, to strengthen its advertising solutions by making first‑party data more actionable for audience discovery, activation and measurement. The deal adds 0ptimus’ predictive modeling and people‑based audience capabilities to Dynata’s connected data platform, expanding Dynata’s end‑to‑end advertising offering.

TransUnion agreed to acquire Neustar for $3.1 billion in cash to expand its identity-resolution, marketing and fraud capabilities. Neustar's security business was excluded from the sale and has been spun out as Neustar Security Services, now a standalone portfolio company backed by Golden Gate Capital and GIC.

Two Sigma has acquired Liberty Source, an on‑shore, socially responsible data workflow management and human-in-the-loop data services provider, from Digital Divide Data. Liberty Source will continue to operate as an independent entity and plans to expand its data services while advancing its mission to provide jobs to military spouses and veterans.

Tritium Partners has made a strategic growth investment in PublicRelay to accelerate the company's product roadmap, including new analytics and AI capabilities. As part of the transaction, veteran executive Mark Parise joined PublicRelay's board as Executive Chairman; Vista Point Advisors acted as PublicRelay's exclusive financial advisor.

GovExec has acquired GovTribe, a market intelligence and data platform for government contractors, in a deal completed with financial support from Growth Catalyst Partners. GovTribe will remain headquartered in Northern Virginia and its founders will continue with the business; financial terms were not disclosed.

GCOM, a provider of software solutions for state and local governments, has acquired Qlarion, a data analytics and business intelligence firm based in Reston, Virginia. The deal makes Qlarion the data analytics arm of GCOM and is intended to embed analytics capabilities into GCOM's existing government-focused SaaS products to improve program outcomes and decision-making for public-sector clients.

Emburse, a provider of expense management and AP automation solutions, has acquired travel data specialist DVI (Data Visualization Intelligence) to deepen its analytics capabilities for travel and corporate spend. The acquisition brings DVI's technology and team into Emburse to provide customers enhanced real-time visibility into travel and T&E data; terms were not disclosed.

Smartronix, a Herndon, Virginia-based cloud and IT solutions provider, has acquired Datastrong, a Fairfax, Virginia data architecture and analytics firm. The acquisition expands Smartronix's enterprise analytics, data science and engineering capabilities and brings new federal (Departments of Justice and State) and commercial clients in pharmaceuticals, financial services and education into Smartronix's Cloud Solutions business unit.

Appriss Inc. has acquired Securitec Screening Solutions, a Roanoke-based provider of court data and RPA-driven research for the background screening industry. The deal brings Securitec into the Appriss Insights division to expand Appriss's court-data assets and strengthen its Risk Intelligence and wholesale data platform.

AMSYS Group, a Houston-based healthcare technology and IT services firm, has acquired Virginia-based HealthConnexx, maker of the RxConnexx real-time medication data exchange platform. The acquisition bolsters AMSYS's healthcare technology portfolio by adding HealthConnexx's data-as-a-service capabilities—providing real-time medication and benefits data to providers, payers, pharmacies and other stakeholders.

Elder Research, a Charlottesville-based data science and AI consulting firm, has acquired the Institute for Statistics Education at Statistics.com to expand its data science, analytics, and statistics training offerings. The acquisition brings Statistics.com's course catalog and credential programs into Elder Research's training and consulting platform to accelerate client data literacy and expand course availability.

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) acquired Veracity Forecasting and Analysis, Inc.; the transaction closed on July 21, 2019 and terms were not disclosed. The deal brings Veracity’s operations research, modeling & simulation, and predictive analytics capabilities into SPA to broaden the firm’s data science and software development offerings for national security and defense clients.

Logi Analytics, a Marlin Equity Partners portfolio company, has acquired Zoomdata, a real-time big data and streaming analytics platform, to strengthen Logi's embedded analytics capabilities. The deal merges Zoomdata's streaming and big-data visualization technology into Logi's developer-grade platform, expanding capabilities for IoT, cybersecurity, financial services and healthcare applications. Terms were not disclosed.

Winshuttle, a Symphony Technology Group (STG) portfolio company, has merged EnterWorks into its business to combine EnterWorks' Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), and Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities with Winshuttle's ERP-centric data governance and RPA capabilities. The combination creates an end-to-end multi-domain master data solution intended to accelerate global growth and broaden product and data governance offerings for customers across consumer and industrial markets.

Culmen International has acquired Tysons Corner, Virginia-based Centrifuge Systems to expand its big data discovery, analytics and visualization capabilities. The Centrifuge team will join Culmen's Technology Solutions Division, strengthening Culmen's offerings for intelligence, defense, homeland security and commercial customers.
