Education Acquisitions in 2017

IO Education has acquired eSchoolData, a provider of K-12 student information and data management solutions, expanding IO's presence in the Northeast. The deal will integrate eSchoolData's SIS, gradebook, parent/student portal and transportation module with IO Education's assessment, analytics and reporting offerings to provide a more comprehensive platform for school districts.

Catapult Learning has acquired Desert Heights Academy (DHA), a Phoenix-area special education provider that enrolls more than 250 students. DHA will join Catapult Learning’s Schools Group as the organization expands its special education footprint in Arizona.

THI Investments acquired a majority stake in Learnship GmbH, a Germany-headquartered provider of digital foreign-language training for corporations. The investment (terms undisclosed) is intended to accelerate Learnship's global expansion and broaden its product portfolio to include intercultural training and language coaching.

Brass Ring Capital purchased a majority equity interest in Creative Learning Systems, a Longmont, Colorado-based provider of turn-key STEM SmartLabs for K-12 schools. Cherry Tree advised Creative Learning Systems’ owners, Gary Nelson and Matt Dickstein, on the ownership transition as founder Gary Nelson planned for retirement.

EVERFI, an education technology company, has acquired Workplace Answers, a provider of online compliance training and the Campus Answers brand. The deal expands EVERFI's capabilities in compliance and higher-education training, allowing the combined business to serve more campuses and corporate clients with scalable prevention and compliance education.

Frontline Education has acquired Teachers-Teachers, a national K-12 job search resource that connects over one million teacher candidates with more than 2,000 educational organizations. The acquisition expands Frontline's Recruiting and Hiring solution within its Frontline Insights Platform to enhance district recruiting efficiency and nationwide reach.
