Government & Public Sector Acquisitions in Alabama

Radiance Technologies and Ignite Fueling Innovation have formed a new joint venture, Radiance Ignite Technologies, to combine capabilities in systems engineering, AI/ML, directed energy, electromagnetic spectrum operations, and space operations for U.S. government customers. The partnership, headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, aims to deliver more comprehensive technical intelligence and mission engineering solutions to defense and intelligence clients.

Brightstar Capital Partners has acquired a majority stake in Engineering Research and Consulting, Inc. (ERC), a Huntsville, Alabama-based provider of mission-critical engineering and consulting services to the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA and other government entities. Dr. Ernie Wu will continue as Board Chair and CEO and the company — which employs approximately 2,200 people nationwide — will partner with Brightstar to pursue operational investments and strategic acquisitions. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
