Education Acquisitions in Iowa

Intirion Corporation, the B2B division of Danby Appliances, has acquired approximately two-thirds of the academic direct rental division of Collegiate Concepts, Inc., expanding its academic direct rental portfolio. The integration is underway as Intirion (and the MicroFridge brand) look to broaden their reach across North American colleges, universities, and student housing programs.

Citizens Financial Group has agreed to acquire College Raptor, an Iowa City–based online college planning platform, in a deal announced September 13, 2022. The acquisition (terms undisclosed) will expand Citizens’ advice and insight capabilities to help students and families plan for college and deepen the bank’s student-lending and digital engagement offerings.

Meteor Education, a Saw Mill Capital portfolio company, acquired Premier Furniture + Equipment (Premier F+E), a Shell Rock, Iowa-based distributor of K-12 classroom furniture. The deal expands Meteor's footprint into the Heartland (adding Premier's presence across Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota) and will keep Premier operating from its Shell Rock showroom while providing additional resources, tools and operational support.
