Veterinary Acquisitions in Virginia

VetEvolve announced a joint venture partnership with Gentle Care Animal Hospital in Forest, Virginia, marking the company's 51st practice and its first JV arrangement. Gentle Care will continue operating under its existing name with founder Dr. Barbara Stevens remaining involved, expanding VetEvolve's Mid-Atlantic density and regional collaboration.

Varsity Healthcare Partners completed a strategic growth investment to acquire VetEvolve, a Richmond, Virginia-based multi-location veterinary care platform. The transaction was a sale by Align Capital Partners; VetEvolve operates 32+ clinics across the Mid-Atlantic and employs over 600 team members, and VHP will partner with management to expand the platform into new geographies.

The Richmond SPCA has purchased A.L. Shilling Spay & Neuter and will operate the Mechanicsville clinic as a Richmond SPCA satellite, reopening in March as Smoky's Spay & Neuter Clinic. The clinic will provide sterilization services for animals from municipal shelters, private rescue groups and community cat TNR caregivers, increasing local spay/neuter capacity.
