Electrical Services Acquisitions in Illinois

Convergint has acquired Esscoe, a Lake Zurich, Illinois-based provider of security, fire and life safety, and mass notification systems. The acquisition adds more than 80 colleagues and expands Convergint’s service capabilities and market presence across the Chicago and Midwestern U.S., strengthening capabilities across verticals including financial, utilities, government, healthcare, and data centers.

RESA Power, a portfolio company of Investcorp, has acquired Power Technical Services, Inc. (PTS), a Downers Grove, Illinois-based electrical testing and commissioning firm. The deal is an add-on to RESA Power’s platform that gives the company an immediate foothold in the greater Chicago area and expands its utility and industrial service capabilities.

PirTano Construction, a portfolio company of Rising Point Capital, has acquired Powerlink Electric, Inc., a full-service electrical and telecommunications contractor based in Vernon Hills, Illinois. The deal closed on November 17, 2023; Powerlink will operate as a new electrical division of PirTano and continue under current leadership.

Eaton has signed an agreement to acquire Tripp Lite, a Chicago-based supplier of power quality products and connectivity solutions, for $1.65 billion. The purchase expands Eaton's edge computing and single-phase UPS product portfolio and is expected to close mid-2021.
