E-Commerce Acquisitions in South Carolina

Central Carolina Inboards acquired Discount Inboard Marine LLC, an e-commerce retailer of inboard boat parts based in Chapin, South Carolina; the transaction closed on March 3, 2023. The sellers, Karen and Vince Dougherty, exited after 32 years of operating the business; key sales rep Richard Powlas will be retained and Generational Equity advised on the transaction.

Fast Growing Trees, a Summit Park‑backed e-commerce provider of live goods, has acquired The Planting Tree, a direct‑to‑consumer seller of trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials. The acquisition is an add‑on to the Fast Growing Trees platform intended to expand product assortment, customer reach and fulfillment capabilities across the continental United States.

Charlotte-based private equity firm Summit Park completed a recapitalization of Fast Growing Trees, LLC, a Fort Mill, South Carolina–based direct-to-consumer e-commerce retailer of trees and shrubs. The transaction will support the company’s growth initiatives—including supplier expansion and digital marketing optimization—while providing partial liquidity and capital to accelerate expansion.
