IT Services Acquisitions in 2018

DRS Imaging Services, a HiGro Group portfolio company, acquired a majority of the assets of docuLynx, Inc., a document management software and services provider based in Omaha, Nebraska. The acquisition expands DRS's document management capabilities and customer footprint across healthcare, education, government and corporate verticals and retains docuLynx's approximately 75 employees.

Savara Holdings, Inc. acquired Assured Technology Solutions (ATS), a Portland-based managed services provider, in a transaction advised by ACT Capital Advisors. The sale was part of a pre‑retirement exit/transition by ATS leadership and positions ATS to scale under Savara's ownership.

AN Global, a Dallas-based digital transformation firm, has acquired 4th Source, a Tampa-headquartered IT services and nearshore delivery company. The deal expands AN Global’s U.S. footprint and augments its healthcare, analytics, cloud, and application development capabilities to accelerate growth across healthcare, retail and financial services clients.

ATSG, a tech-enabled managed services company headquartered in Briarcliff Manor, New York, has acquired VDX, a Microsoft award-winning provider of project-based consulting and managed services. The acquisition expands ATSG's Microsoft practice (Azure and O365), deepens its managed services capabilities, and increases capacity and presence in the U.S. Northeast.

The Allstate Corporation has acquired PlumChoice, a Lowell, Massachusetts-based provider of cloud and technical support services, in a $30 million deal. PlumChoice will be integrated into Allstate's SquareTrade protection-plans business to expand tech-support capabilities for consumers and small businesses.

ISSQUARED, Inc. has acquired Starnet Data Design, a Westlake Village, California-based value-added reseller and network engineering services provider. The acquisition expands ISSQUARED’s cloud infrastructure, managed services and security capabilities and brings hundreds of Starnet clients into ISSQUARED’s service footprint.

Corbel Capital Partners closed a structured investment (senior secured debt and common equity) into Baker's Computer Services, LLC, alongside independent sponsors Fields Texas, LTD and Cave Springs Group, LLC. The capital and operational support are intended to support BCS's technical repair and reverse-logistics services for retail point-of-sale hardware and accelerate growth.

Park Place Technologies has acquired Houston-based Solid Systems CAD Services (SSCS), a global third-party maintenance (TPM) provider for enterprise IT hardware. The acquisition expands Park Place’s scale and service capabilities across multiple regions (including the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, Finland and Japan) and strengthens its post-warranty hardware maintenance offering for enterprise and data center customers.

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation signed an agreement to acquire Softvision, LLC from Tower Arch Capital; the deal was expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2018. Softvision is a digital product engineering and design firm with over 2,850 employees across 25 studios in 11 countries, and the acquisition expands Cognizant's digital product engineering capabilities.

Involta has acquired Iowa-based cloud strategy and design firm BluPrairie, LLC to expand its public cloud and hybrid IT services. BluPrairie founder Michelle Bates will join Involta as Chief Innovation Officer as the firms combine public cloud expertise with Involta’s managed services offering to deliver hybrid cloud and managed solutions.

DXC Technology has acquired System Partners, a Salesforce Platinum partner operating in Australia and New Zealand, to strengthen DXC's Salesforce and cloud-first capabilities in the ANZ region. System Partners brings more than 100 Australia-based Salesforce certified experts and end-to-end Salesforce consulting, implementation and managed services to DXC's digital transformation offering.

H.I.G. Capital has made a strategic investment to combine Trace3 and Data Strategy, creating a national IT solutions provider. The combination pairs Trace3's security, data intelligence and cloud capabilities with Data Strategy's mobility, collaboration, integration, inventory and managed services to broaden capabilities and scale for enterprise and mid-market clients. Century Technology Group (parent of Data Strategy) and its leadership will remain involved as shareholders.

Trinity Hunt Partners has acquired Improving (Improving Holdings), a full-service provider of technology and custom software development services. Trinity Hunt will partner with founder and CEO Curtis Hite and the existing management team (who remain significant shareholders) to accelerate growth organically and via strategic acquisitions across North America.

Softvision LLC has acquired Arrow Digital, a West Palm Beach-based digital consulting firm with ~160 technologists, to strengthen Softvision's robotic process automation (RPA) capabilities and Financial Services expertise. 7 Mile Advisors served as exclusive sell-side advisor; Tower Arch Capital is identified as the lead investor in Softvision.

Vietnam-based IT services leader FPT Software has acquired a majority stake in Intellinet, a U.S.-based management consulting and technology services firm, in a deal advised on the sell-side by 7 Mile Advisors. The transaction brings roughly 150 Intellinet consultants into FPT’s organization and expands FPT’s footprint and delivery capabilities across the United States.

Broadtree Partners announced a strategic investment in ListEngage in July 2018. The investment is intended to help the Salesforce consulting firm scale its operations, deepen its relationship with Salesforce, and provide management support to realize growth opportunities.

Temprano Techvestors has completed the acquisition of Charlotte-based Corporate Armor, a reseller of security, wireless and data storage products. The deal adds sales channels and product breadth to Temprano's portfolio of security-focused technology companies and is intended to accelerate growth while maintaining Corporate Armor's existing customer relationships and brand partnerships.

C Spire, the Mississippi-based telecom and technology services provider, has acquired Birmingham, Alabama-based TekLinks, a resell, cloud, managed and professional services firm. The deal (terms undisclosed) will integrate TekLinks' operations into C Spire Business Solutions, with TekLinks leadership retaining senior roles as C Spire expands its cloud and managed services capabilities across the Southeast.

Spire Capital has acquired Dynamic Quest, a Greensboro, North Carolina-based managed services provider (MSP) that delivers recurring managed IT, cloud hosting, security, backup and disaster recovery services to small and mid-size businesses. The transaction, facilitated by IT ExchangeNet, brings Dynamic Quest into Spire’s technology-enabled business services portfolio to support growth and scale.

ESW Holdings, a portfolio company of ESW Capital, has acquired MBI Solutions, LLC, a Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based provider of infrastructure optimization, big data implementation and managed services. The acquisition expands ESW's enterprise software portfolio by adding managed services, capacity planning and big-data capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

KPMG Canada has acquired Adoxio, a 60-person CRM consultancy specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365, in a deal finalized on May 16. The acquisition bolsters KPMG's cloud-based customer relationship management and Microsoft Dynamics capabilities across Canada and the US.

XTIVIA, an enterprise information management and IT services firm headquartered in Colorado Springs, acquired Pleasant Valley Business Solutions (PVBS), a Reston, Virginia-based Microsoft ERP and financial management solution provider for government contractors. The acquisition brings PVBS's DCAA-ready Microsoft Dynamics solutions and specialist expertise into XTIVIA's broader portfolio to expand capabilities for government contractor clients.

Anexinet, a portfolio company of Marlin Equity Partners, has acquired Propelics, a San Jose-based enterprise mobility and mobile application specialist, to deepen Anexinet's mobile strategy and app development capabilities. 7 Mile Advisors served as exclusive sell-side advisor to Propelics in the transaction.

Fulcrum IT Services, a portfolio company backed by Boyne Capital and Grindstone Partners, has acquired The PTR Group, an engineering services firm specializing in embedded systems, cybersecurity, real-time and IoT engineering. The acquisition expands Fulcrum’s cyber capabilities and its presence in R&D and intelligence markets, adding clients such as DARPA, NGA, the Naval Research Laboratory and NASA.

Menlo Technologies, a Santa Clara-based global services technology firm, has acquired Vienna, Virginia-headquartered ERP implementation specialist SSi Consulting. The acquisition expands Menlo's business application and ERP capabilities while allowing SSi to leverage Menlo's development, mobile application and global services delivery platform to better serve its hundreds of customers.
