    Google Inc. has acquired ReCAPTCHA Inc., a Carnegie Mellon University spin-off founded by Luis von Ahn that developed reCAPTCHA puzzles to both protect websites from bots and help digitize printed text. The Pittsburgh-based startup and its technology will be integrated into Google’s engineering operations, with von Ahn joining Google’s Pittsburgh office while remaining on the CMU faculty.
