AI & Machine Learning Acquisitions in Ohio

Urbint, an AI resiliency platform for utilities and critical infrastructure, has acquired StormImpact, an AI company that predicts storm, wildfire, and flood risk to utility infrastructure. The acquisition integrates StormImpact’s weather-impact modeling into Urbint’s Storm Response tools to help utilities pre-stage crews, allocate resources, and increase grid resiliency against extreme weather.

Ambarella, Inc. agreed to acquire Oculii Corporation, an Ohio-based developer of adaptive AI radar perception algorithms, to expand Ambarella's edge AI and sensor-fusion capabilities for automotive and other IoT endpoint applications. The acquisition adds Oculii's radar software (which can boost resolution of conventional radar chips) to Ambarella's CVflow SoC portfolio and is expected to close in Ambarella's Q4 FY2022.

LiveVox, a cloud customer engagement platform provider, has acquired SpeechIQ, an AI-driven speech analytics and quality assurance platform headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The acquisition strengthens LiveVox’s workforce optimization (WFO) and speech analytics capabilities, enabling deeper insights from call recordings and improved customer engagement for contact centers.
